but what's the ruling on games we haven't played? Shouldn't this be "a game we all like", not "a game we all don't hate?". If you haven't played a game, you can't like or hate it, so you'll vote no on the former and possibly default to yes on the latter.

I think we need to find a game we all have played and liked. So that takes this from impossible to "more likely to sprout wings and fly away" impossible, but still. So if someone hasn't played a game, it's out. That's my take on it anyway.

True. But the problem is that games that are universal are more likely to bring negative opinions. I'm sure everyone on this board has played Super Mario Bros. but not everyone likes it.

The ruling stands as this:

If a game is so obscure that most people haven't played it it goes.
If you DISLIKE a game it goes.
If you haven't played a game because you despise it, it goes.
If you just happened to miss a game and have no STRONG opinion on it, it stays.

If this thing has to end with a game most like and a few tolerate, so be it.

PS: There will be no more genre or series removals. Single games only, its more fun that way. :)

I've got no glaring problems with the ones still in the race. Super Mario World is meh to me... but I guess it's not horrible.

I did want to shoot down some recent nominations:

Megaman 3 == trash. I really don't know why some people say that it's somehow better than MM2, when MM3 made me stop playing the series entirely (whereas MM2 is among my top 5 games of all time)

Super Punchout was incredibly disappointing. I'd rather play Glass Joe 16x in a row on Mike Tyson's Punchout than play thru Super PO again.

If Mickey Mania is the game where you start as Steamboat Willie Mickey, it gets the axe. And I so tried to like that game - what a great concept.

i only took the current list of games that you had in the "in" group and edited for what i did not like, same as every one else is doing, i just included the ones I would keep and added i few that i thought might be good candidates. same thing everyone else is doing with multiple posts, i did with just one post


as you can see everyone has different tastes. the goal is to find one game everyone likes not 50, or at least thats the way i understood it

how much did you play of it? Its pretty much about the manipulation of the rope. get in the middle door on field 11 , for an example. tough as hell in parts and requires a genuine development of skill to progress. Excellent platforming setups, and a brilliant way of moving about them. I made a topic about the game, I imagine I said more in there.

Well, I think the point is that the physics are crazy. It's not meant to be realistic or anything. that's why stunt mode is so much fun. You can float in the air for hours doing flips! :)

Oh well.

Yeah, I know the physics were meant to be that way. Same as GT3's physics were meant to more realistic, causing many others to dislike it. It just soured my taste for it, odd though since I normally enjoy racing games that adhere to the laws of theuniverse.
