*sigh*

I think all music reflex games are fundamentally shaped after a concept that involves pushing a button associated with a particular tone or color. True, Gitaroo Man has some slightly different concepts, but it's still something a trained monkey could handle with practice. One would think that, given such a simple game concept, the music would have some degree of quality or depth, instead the gamer is treated to some of the worst music I've ever heard. Shallow orchestration, poppy lines, and some of the worst guitar work since Whitesnake, all for the pleasure of pretending you're playing it.

If you've played the game past it's prime and don't like it then your opinion may be swayed by what you're playing today. Example: If I nominated Doom and PosterX shot it down because he/she nevered played it back in it's golden days of DOS PC or only played it recently on, say, his/her GBA and is directly comparing it to today's mega FPS's like Halo and such then the opinion with regards to this thread aren't valid.

I think the result could be interesting but whether or not it's valid is another issue. Too many people have removed games for invalid reasons. I think some others have given up on this as well so your results will never be anything other than entertainment for those that stick it out.

Why should there be a reason? We're trying to decided if there is a single game we can agree on. The reason for anyone listing a game they do not like is inconsequential. The fact that they do not like it is reason enough the remove it.

Again, I ask why? So you can throw a fit at how "unreasonable" or "incorrect" my assertions about GAME X are, and how unfounded and grossly inacurate they might be? I simply DO NOT LIKE THEM. There. Now you have your reason.

This game is a beta I swear. Theres no gameplay. Just smash the buttons. You only die when you fall asleep.
The anime cut scenes were cool though. :D

I remember going up to a platform and loading up a menu to decide whether or not I should "jump over the platform" or perhaps I should "attack the enemy", and then they decided to actually map those commands to buttons so that people wouldn't have to deal with those menus? Thats bullshit. Dammit, if I want to play a shootem up, I want a menu to pop up so that I can determine whether or not I should "dodge" or "use bomb", instead I'm expect to use the arrow keys to move or a seperate button for bombing. Thats weak. It ruined gaming. Its a shame you don't have the common sense to realize this.

Isn't Captain Tsubasa that manga with the heavily gay (as in, homosexual) subtext? Because if it features menu-based man-on-man flirting, that's pretty innovative.

I don't think so. The main character has a girlfriend. And And there was the comedy bit about hitting on the female coach assistant when they moved to the brazilian team. There were not, however, any scenes of chance occurences in the showers after the game, or what have you.

Axelay is a terrible game because: your ship is always and annoyingly returned to the center of the screen. The whole thing feel like your ship has rubber bands tied to either side of it and you're being pulled all over the place. In terms of pure shooter gameplay, it's a waste of time. As a Mode7 tech demo it's downright amazing though.

The Tony Hawk games are just boring sports games, and they don't deserve the hype they get. They're made for skaters, and that's not me...so off they go. I couldn't find anything particularly appealing about them. Graphics are extremely ugly too.

MODE7 IS THE GREATEST THING EVER! It should be used in all games.

Sorry to burst a few bubbles, but I've seen a large amount of that list cut off, and not be updated. For instance, GGX was called off a few pages ago.

Also, ask for an explanation. If they actually have to think about why they don't like something, then they may end up discovering they really never had a problem with it to begin with (IE: me and the Fantastic Four...not the game! The comic ;) ).

I really don't think this goal will be achievable due to the "Deltas" on this board that have inherent bad taste in games. Why should their opinions count?

That's the point though. Despite the "inherant bad taste" of the "Deltas" there must be a common ground somewhere. To rule out any one group, be they "Deltas," or fanboys, or hardCORE, or elitist bastards, or any of the other terms people sling back and forth here to undermine the opinion of those they disagree with, there must be some sort of common ground. And I think, while trying not to speak for Master, that's the point of this thread in the first place.

I understand the point. I just don't agree with it's validity and don't feel it's worth the attempt. This was tried 8 months ago with no hard set result and the same will occur this time around. I even tried to participate with this thread originally but came to my senses when I saw too many excellent games being removed for no "valid" reason other than "it's shit". :rolleyes:

That's my .02 and I'm sticking by it.

OK. That doesn't mean the whole thing has to be scrapped, though.

People will pretend to have played it, say "SHIT" and it is canned. Atleast with reasoning they can't do that, because they haven't played it. I think specific examples would be in order as well, because it's really easy to fake a review.
