Robotech: Battlecry Prepares For Launch
Now you can land a Veritech in your living room without destroying the house.
Soon the PS2 and XBox will allow people to experience what is possibly the first good use of an often-abused anime license in Robotech: Battlecry. The game has gone gold and should be shipping to stores before too long, but some of you might not want to wait until it hits stores and should pre-order. Reason being, there is a limited edition version being offered that gets you not only the game but also the soundtrack, a special t-shirt, numbered dog tag, motion card, and concept art. Unfortunately those with a GameCube will have to wait a little longer, as it doesn't ship for Nintendo's system until October.
The transformable-at-will mecha known as the Veritech Fighter will be at your disposal through a number of action-based missions which display destruction in all its cel-shaded glory. All of the designs and mecha are modelled directly after the Robotech series to help keep it true to its roots. All three Veritech modes (the fighter plane, humanoid robot, and a combination of both) will be required to make it through each stage to destroy the invading forces of the Zentraedi aliens.
