Help!
Each time I try to message someone on my contact list, I get a fatal error message saying that a runtime error incurred and icq shuts down after. This doesn't happen when I msg someone not in my contacts list. I've already reinstalled, uninstalled then reinstalled, and upgraded icq - all to no avail. So if anyone has ever come across this problem before, or has a good idea why this would be happening, let me know.

You try trillian?
That's what I use.

It's a few versions away from being perfect, but Trillian is still awesome.

Hero, did you recently install or mess around with a firewall on your comp? I had a similar problem with receiving files from other people after I installed a router and a firewall. Everytime someone tried to send me a file I would get a fatal error. I just had to fool around with my firewall settings to fix it.
Dunno if that helps... Good luck trying to fix it.

is there anyway to use your ICQ contact list on trillian?
I'm just trying to avoid the need for finding everyone on my list again.

Yes. Trillian uses your ICQ account. You log in with your UIN and pass, just like you do in ICQ.

but does it keep the contacts? Because with ICQ AFAIK, your list is saved onto your harddrive only. There's no 'backup' that icq.com keeps.
