Can anyone tell me when the Tokyo Game Show is scheduled to occur? I am assuming this will be the time when Sega will make its rumored exclusivity announcement, so I am waiting with high anticipation. I plan on lining up behind whichever platform Sega chooses, as I always have been and always will be on their side.
Plus I want to hear about the new Shining Force game, no doubt it will be on the platform they choose to support so this ties into that :D

port of dodonpachi DAI-OU-JOU, I'm wondering about a few
things. One, how close is the port to the actual game? And
two, does it include the changes that Cave made in the
Black Label version?

seems like a group of us are going (some guys from Sega/Namco/Bullfrog, some journos, and... err.. some gaming geeks!)
We`ll probably see you there - wanna catch up ?

I will probably be wearing my England top with DCharlie on the back so i should be easy to spot if the worst comes to the worst.
I wouldn't expect to see anything on Shining Force. Sega has shown their list of games, so unless they have something up their sleeve, I wouldn't get my hopes up. If they do decide to make an announcemt in regards to platform exclusivity, I think that qualifies as their "surprise".
Not that I'm not hoping, mind you.
As far as choosing 'sides' with whomever they decide to join forces with--I don't choose sides. I'm an equal opportunist.

My interest is perked as to what are the two Dreamcast games listed for the show. 99% chance they are comics or Ikaruga/KOF 2000 but still... *-neo

I've already tied my console money into Gamecube and PS2. If it's an announcement for X-Box, I hope they drop the price to $150 sooner than later.

Is this when Square is gonna announce the Final Fantasy Gaiden games?
I'm not even going to try and predict who Sega will buddy up with (IF they do), but I understand taking another price-drop stance in purchasing a Xbox. However, I belive we'll soon see Microsoft packaging Xbox with a high-profile title. If they did that 200.00, I bet that would force alot of fence-sitters to jump.Quote:

Regardless, there are so many AAA, AA and A titles being released over the next 4 months, your PS2 and GC will give you all the love one gamer is capable of receiving.
Imagine though, the Xbox packaged with Brute Force, Panzer Orta, or an online game of some kind. If I didn't already have one, I'd run out and grab one in a second.
This hobby no doubt offers more quality than any othet medium-unless you collect cars.

Did Sonic Team develop that three-part Saturn story that we were all screwed out of? I wouldn't mind a beefed up special edition of that, seeing as how I've never played it.
You're thinking of Sonic Software Planning, not Sonic Team. I thought they developed all the Shining Force games. They are the same team as Camelot, I think.
Didn't someone in another thread say Sonic Software and Climax merged?

I didn't mean that I think the unnannounced Sonic Team game will be a Shining Force game, I just wanted to show that their is stuff not on the list that will be shown.

I just read Sega's line-up for for the Tokyo show, and there is--sadly--absolutely no mention of a Shining Force game.
I thought Out Run was going to make its Xbox debut. I was really psyched for that.
Oh well, Shinobi, Panzer, Skies and...something else that has me excited (what was it?), will have to do.
Micorsoft should be coming out strong at this show. They need a solid outing in Japan. The online RPG will no doubt help.
Should be interesting...
