Half Priced Games + No Tax

Well, my brother just recently joined the Navy. And yesterday, when asking for a new TV, my father told me he and my brother were going to go to Fort Hamilton (local army base) and get me a new tv because it was half price and no tax. So I then asked my brother if they sold video games...and his response put me into heaven. I will now be walking home with new video games for 24.99. I just have to beg to get a ride to the base every so often now. I would recommend anyone who knows anyone in the military, to ask them if they could take them to a base to check out the stores...Oh boy I can't wait to go see what they have. I'll update this thread once I actually go, and tell you all the prices of everything.. :)

Well...Johnny has a point. My tax dollars are subsidizing your half-price video game purchases. I don't really like the sound of that.

I'm not placing the blame on Rich - the federal government is to blame, he is merely taking advantage of it.

Can't say I'm thrilled about it. Thousands of people living below the poverty line in this country, and the government subsidizes TV sets and video games instead of more housing and food. That kind of prioritizing is pretty fucked up.

Well unless the Navy is sold games cheap, the public is paying that $30. You're getting a public hand out that amounts to welfare, so you might as well abuse that system as well and buy even more games.

Hey, atleast a fellow gamer is taking advantage of tax dollars.... it's either that or gold plated toilet seats for congressmen that cost $20k apiece...

It just wouldn't be America if the US government spent tax dollars wisely.
