Hi,
I am in campus housing connected with a T1 line. Is there anyway that I can use and Xbox, PS2 or DC to play over the net? Would I need a router or can I just use the same line as my computer? Any help would be appreciated.

You almost definitely will not need a router because most dorm room ports will assign more than one IP address. A simple HUB should do the job. Hubs are much cheaper than routers, you can definitely find one for under $20. Or if there's more than one ethernet port, you can just plug the console straight into the wall.
or if you're only assigned one IP address, you'll also need to set your computer up to do network address translation along with the hub. If you're using Windows I believe it's just called "internet sharing" or something simple like that. In Linux it's called IP masquerading. I'm not sure what the deal is with MacOS.
Basically what that does is your computer vouches for your Xbox on the internet, and your XBox isn't technically on the net. It's a very common way to share a broadband connection in a home for example.
Ok, thanks for the info. What about for the PS2 adapter? Is it simply just getting a hub? What hubs do you recommend?
As long as its an ethernet hub (not USB), anything should be fine. Here's a link to one that I have: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...142653-0880106 . That ones a little expensive, but it's name brand.

the ps2 adapter is the actual MODEM.....
What is the diff between a hub and router?
