Doesnt the EO series have the easier controls? I hope not.
It's only an option. The original gameplay is in there as well.Quote:

Finally.
Too little, too late.
FINALLY. A REAL online console fighting game. This must be the secret online game Gabe (well, one of them) from Penny Arcade recently said had him very excited and sold on an X-Box.
Ill take the easy control and beat all of your asses=P
hopefully xbox will get/has some real arcade sticks or a saturn/dreamcast controller adapter too hook up my sticks. anyone know if there is plans for anything i mentioned?
damn it...*kills Yoshi*
i wanted to report this.
*signs up for Xbox Live*
this will be online but MvC2 on PS2 wont be
GAH
Sexual: just get an X-arcade or MAS stick man...problem solved.
Already exists. Check lik-sang.Quote:

Hey:
Wow. I get new reasons to buy an XBox every day.
Now, provided everyone playing isn't some C and N Groove-using punkass bitch, this should make for some of the best tournaments ever seen.

I guess I'm happy. It's definately something, though I do kind of feel like Click_Stick.
Having owned this game for so long already, I'm not gonna be rushing out to snatch this out since I wasn't a huge fan of it in the first place. But I will pick it up at some point.
This is excellent.
Cool! No you'll all be able to see HOW TREMENDOUSLY BAD I AM at Capcom vs SNK. See you Live ;)
ºTracer
Wheeee!
As if Panzer wasnt enough. Nothing would be better, to me, aside from a KoF 98 or 2000 on a console with decent sticks and on line. This is going to be awesome.
Good news... I'm not sure if I'll get it, but it paves the way for online play in more fighters.
I suck at 2D fighters !! Kick my ass to increase your stats !! Only on Xbox :)
- Kabuki
bahn: where can i find those 2?
sidesz: i'll check right now
thanks for the help guys :D
I'd rather see Capcom All-Stars Live, but I'm sure CvS2 fans will be happy. It's a start, right?
I'm a little troubled by the fact that they bothered to point out that "...but the proximity of the game kiosks to the Xbox Live display looks to confirm recent rumors that the game will be playable online via Xbox Live in Japan." The key word there being Japan. I REALLY hope it makes its way over to this side of the Pacific.
Man, it would be the whole DC fiasco on the Xbox...
Pretty much my thoughts. I'm not a big fan of CVS2, but I'm glad to see that it's going online.Quote:

Great news, regardless of whether you are partial to KOF. The fact is that fighting games (2D, no less) are one of the very best and most exciting genres for on-line candidacy, yet the one with least apparent on-line plans. KOF is a great, great start.
Xbox is getting better and better everyday. :)
Rooster makes a good point.
*makes mental note to slaughter Capcom USA execs if they take out online play for U.S. version*
Capcom USA loves diabling online play.
But I have Kawaks, so I don't need console fighting games to go online. :)
it's EO, so it isn't worth shit, unfortunately..
and as someone pointed out earlier.. it's too little too late..
this could have been done on the DC.
Well, seeing as how the Xbox is broadband only, it would not be any kind of pain to access Japanese servers anyway (as it is a pain to do so on dial-up ala DC). Frankly there'd be no real reason to take it out - ESPECIALLY since MS controls the Servers and not Capcom.
ºTracer
A) Voice rocks. Talking smack is made for fighting games.
B) The haters have no clue (sorry guys)
Sorry. Capcom vs. SNK 2 still sucks.
Capcom USA's favorite thing in the world is to take out the online play
look at all the dc games that had it *sigh*
I don't blame Capcom for not wanting to pay for servers for games that sell so bad here. Neither should you. MS, I believe, is happy to serve all games on XBL to increase the XBL library, even niche stuff like 2D fighters.
i could be completely wrong but i always though the dc online fighting games were direct connect in japan. can anyone clarify that? either way, if they weren't they can be. then, capcom doesn't have to pay a penny for servers. sure that wouldn't be as cool as playing off servers and having rankings and shit, but they wouldn't have to pay any money to serve itQuote:

Dear capcom...
To the news I have heard reguarding the re-release of capcom vs snk with online play, I can't say I haven't been overjoyed enough. This is finally the type of game we have always wanted ever since you were giving japanise players the privilage of playing over the net while we have taken the whole dreamcast era with ziltch to go on. In this rather fruitful turn of events, we're hoping that you'll be interested in a re-release of those other titles as well as including collection disks that contain entire fighting series, including Streetfighter3 powerstone and the other marvel-biased franchises. Seeing these would without a doubt turn a great deal of profit and at the same time, finally give us the titles we have long since been begging for you to bring stateside, while preserving the arcade atmosphere considerably. Hopefully, you will make these dreams happen so we will have something to thank you for in the long run. May we wish you best of luck in hoping you support us!
P.S. Spawn and heavy metal were great arcade additions, but they ended up being butchered because seganet wasn't added with the program. We would like to have you make up for this so we can finally enjoy them the way they were meant to be enjoyed. Also we're interested in playing vampire chronicals online since it was sold from D-direct in limited quantities
nuff said ;)
Well, X-Box always does have that extra little selling feature in their games... they very possibly could keep XBOX LIVE in when/if it comes out here.
Too bad the game suffers from crouching fierce tiger uppercut syndrome.
I wonder if they'll fix the roll cancelling glitch in this version.
yes all of the capcom fighting games were direct connect gamesQuote:

which means capcom didnt have to pay for any servers and wouldnt have had to pay for any servers if they brought it here
capcom usa is just a bunch of asses
I'd rather it be another game.
And I'd rather it be on another console.
And I'm gonna nead some type of Saturn/Ascii FT pad type solution.
But it's still pretty cool news.
How does CvsSNK2 free with Xbox LIVE starter kit sound?
"We have heard from an inside source that Capcom Vs. SNK 2 will be one of the pack-in titles for Xbox Live. We were recently told that the big pack-in game would not be Revolt, was a title who's franchise we knew, but had not yet seen on Xbox -- and that it was something worthwhile.
While Microsoft has not yet announced the official launch line-up for Xbox Live, we'd put our money on Capcom Vs. SNK 2 leading the pack."
-IGN
I'll wait until an official announcement before I believe that...
Wow, this is some potentially good news. I've wanted fighting games to go online, and I think CvS2 isn't too bad of a choice. Lots of characters to mess around with, and lots of different modes to play in (assuming the servers can search for 1v1s, 3v3s, etc.) Plus, how cool would it be to use your custom colored character? It's flawed, sure, but when there's people to play against, most anything's fun (unless we're talking about tournament level play here, which is rarely fun, CvS2, MvC2, or otherwise...).
some how i HIGHLY doubt thisQuote:

No it couldn't... as people have mentioned here, there were two different types of online structures for Japanese DC online gaming.Quote:
and as someone pointed out earlier.. it's too little too late..
this could have been done on the DC.
One uses a real network. Games include Daytona USA, PSO, Sakura Taisen Online, etc. Anyone from the US could have connected to these servers through their own ISP and started a game.
The other structure uses direct connection, which mainly Capcom used. They call it "Matching Service" and that's exactly what it was. Not unlike the service XBand provided here in the US back in the 16 bit days. The thing is, it's a heckuvalot easier and feasible for that to happen in Japan than it is in the Western world. Not only is the US a heckuvalot bigger, but you'd incur long-distance calling fees depending where your opponent lived.
And considering the XBox's service is broadband only, that just further reinforces that it could not have been done on DC. You ever play with XBand SSF2? I did. It was fun, but it was hardly skillful as every shouryuuken you throw comes out about a second later. Sure the DC's 56k modem is better than the XBand's 14.4, but in a game where timing is the most important aspect, I'm glad Capcom didn't kill it by allowing dialup people to play.
Oh and lastly, why are people wishing that it'd be the new Capcom All-Stars game? If anything, I would have much preferred it be Street Fighter II: Turbo/Hyper Fighting or Street Fighter III (any of them).
Darn near every Capcom fighter outside of the main series is trash.
It's new. CvS2 is getting stale already.Quote:

I can imagine a printout coming out of Tsubaki's printer from Kidnemo... "INCORRECT! DO YOU WISH TO TRY AGAIN? Y/N?"
CvS2 is WEAKSAUCE!!!!!

Old
And just because something's new doesn't make it good either.
And I'd love to hear the merits of the versus series (either of them) or the zero series or whatever, but I'd bet that in the end it'll just amount to "I loved incredibly imbalanced and/or cheesy gameplay".
Good SF series:
SF3
that is all.
everything else sucks monkey cocks.and i swear whoever is doing the casting for the next CvS had better put Clark and or vanessa in there.i meen god damn do they even know how super goodest these characters are....and for the love of god get rid or RAIDEN!!!!
GRIFFITH RULES YOU ALL!!!

when i said that DC could do it, i forgot that when xband did it, it was direct connect, and all online DC games have to dial in to a main server, making it that much slower..
but i disagree with what you said about XBand SSF2 (or any other game on xband)..
although there was slightly noticeable lag and occasional disconnects in games, once you've adjusted to it, the game feels very natural and there's a lot of skill involved.. i had SSF2, which i played and enjoyed on xband, along w/ MK2 and mario kart, and KI... great fun :)
