There's the review on gameoverDude.com. I actually liked NR somewhat at first, but it hasn't aged well over a year- my 3 stars is admittedly a tad generous. It deserves a 2 to be truthful. If you expect it to even come close to other Takumi shmups, you're in for a rude awakening. As Fizz has said, NR is a busted game.
One thing that is still pretty nice in Night Raid is the soundtrack. That's probably its only good feature.

Still kind of a bummer that it may not see a home release but at least it's a mediocre shmup from what everyone says.

Add my voice to the choir of harpies.
I'm not the best person to review a Takumi game (took a year for me to see GW2's beauty), but Night Raid is a utter failure in near every respect.
Good points:
Fairly smooth gameplay.
Enjoyed the chaining laser system.
As gameover said, good soundtrack.
Bad:
Annoying voice samples.
Incredibly simple enemies and backgrounds, abstract doesn't have to be a bad thing but everything in this game is instantly forgettable.
The game is a wash of solid "chunks" of color making the on screen chaos even harder to pin down.
There is no pause button. Yep, no pause.
Back to shelf for the forseeable future. *-neo

Is the PS1 version 1 player only? I was sure I had heard so.
The voice samples were kinda decent IMO- especially "BOMBER!" and "Fire!" (well, at least in the G-Net version which I've recently sold off). The "hug launcher" system is kind of aggravating- your ship cannot move as you use it. Sometimes this can result in a lot of medals dropping off screen and chilling out your multiplier.
Having pulled Giga Wing 2 off the shelf lately, I can say NR pales in comparison to it. The arcade NR does hold a constant 60 FPS... but the frame rate drops in GW2 are not that bad, really.
Generally, RayCrisis' presentation is slicker than that of NR. Stage 3's background in NR is somewhat insipidly designed. The 4th and 5th stages' BGs aren't too bad, however.
For their next shooter, Takumi needs to go back to Naomi hardware. I'd like for them to bring out a Kyukyoku Tiger (Twin Cobra) 3.
