Digging Through Playstation Demos

Today, I went through my massive pile of Playstation demo discs and it brought back a lot of memories... of games I liked but not enough to buy. I'm not going to list them all but here are a few.

Future Cop LAPD by EA

A 3/4 overhead view action game where you control a police mech. It's similar to EA's "Strike" series.

Running Wild by Blue Shift/989

A cartoon-ish racing game where you control animals. Kind of like Mario Kart except on foot.

Destrega by Omega Force/Koei

Fighting game where the combat is mostly from shooting projectiles from far away.

Sci-fi FPS with old-school controls(no looking up and down)

Invasion From Beyond by King of the Jungle/GT

A space shooter with a 1950's B-movie feel where you defend a village from UFOs.


Blasto by Sony

A cartoony platform game with the voice of Phil Hartman. Sony hyped this game big-time before its release but it didn't live up to it. Still, it's decent.

Anyone else like these games or remember good Playstation demos that just weren't quite good enough to buy the full game?

I remember being underwhelmed by the Rage Racer demo, and amazed by a Bushido Blade demo, which let you play as every character in the game.

N2O? Almost?

ALMOST!?!?!?

I had Running Wild for a little bit after getting it for $9.99 new... was fun multiplayer, but nothing special.

Yep, N2O is an almost-buy for me.

And Rage Racer is quite good but unfortunately it only has digital control which is hard to go back to now for racing games.

I bought N20 because I thought it looked fun, and a lot like Tempest. I soon found out that its not fun, and a HUGE Tempest ripoff. But Tempest is fun and challanging, N2O is sluggish and boring, and looks like blurry ass, even for PS standards.

No no, you see, it should be in your collection, and you should have logged many enjoyable hours with it.

EB sells it for like $5 used. Worth it for the music alone, even if owning Vegas covers pretty much every track on it (though the three remixes are pretty damn good).

I always wanted to play Future Cop (if only to see to strike series influence) and Invasion from Beyond. I never really did care much for those other games, especially Blasto, bleh.

blasto is utter dick......its sooooo horrible. i believe dry dock prison sex would be better.

i loved the thousand arms demo but never bought the game :(
