Bump, come on people, some of you must have downloaded it and have some thoughts.
Has it been posted allready? I dont think so, you owe it to yourself to download it.
Remember when those Bouncer trailers kicked ass?
The trailers for the first ZOE kicked ass too...
Pretty as hell, it certainly looks good. The main thing the first was missing was any real sort of intensity, so I'm hoping this one includes many more enemies attacking you at once, and hopefully they won't just float around waiting to be attacked. Take some initiative!
Yeah but regarding the Bouncer, we have played the first Z.O.E and we all know the problems it had and the developer has said that they are fixing most of the bad things for the sequel.
The trailer shows some major changes IMO.
ZOE2 LOOKS AMAZING
The graphics are being done by the people who did MGS2, I'm willing to believe the released videos look identicle to the real thing. MGS2 was one of the best looking games I've ever seen for ps2, and I think the same can be said about ZOE2.
The real problem with ZOE2 is that its gameplay is very unproven. ZOE1 was short and very repetitive, not that great really.

After watching the trailer again...
All I can saw is wow, things really have changed since ZOE1... The presentation is much better now (And I thought it was top notch in the original) with very cool Anime tone (looks to be filled with Anime movies to further the plot) and I\'m in awe of the visuals... It makes ZOE1 look like a 32X game.
If they can just get some varied gameplay in there then I will be a VERY happy chappy, and maybe the opton of japanese/english voices?

GS hands on impressions:Quote:
ZOE2 was absolutely insane. It drew some of the biggest crowds at TGS, and looks light years ahead of the last game. Hell, it looked light years ahead of pretty much everything at the show, and I would put it ahead of Panzer Dragoon Orta visually. Infact, I\'ve been playing PDO at home over the last couple of days and I would be prepared to argue that case with anyone.

TGS 2002: Hands-on: ZOE: The 2nd Runner
We go hands-on with the sequel to Konami’s giant robot action game.
One of the few surprises at this year’s Tokyo Game Show was Konami’s Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, or Anubis: Zone of the Enders as it’s called in Japan. The PlayStation 2 game looked really slick and already features a number of improvements over its predecessor, not the least of which is a collection of more varied environments. The demo begins with a cool anime style cutscene showing a large block plummeting towards a planet until its pilot triggers a mechanism that releases the frame (or mech) named Jehuty, which was also featured in the original game.
Upon being released from his shell, Jehuty is placed in a blizzard-like environment with harsh winds and heavy amounts of snow limiting visibility. However, off in the distance, you can see an enormous cloud of robotic insect enemies heading in your direction. There are a few different attacks Jehuty can use in this particular situation. You can either charge directly into the cloud and slash at the enemies with Jehuty’s energy sword, or you can use his grappling ability to grab onto an enemy, swing it around, and then throw it into a wall or another object in the environment. This move is also effective because other enemies will receive damge while Jehuty is spinning. It’s also worth noting that the throw produces a particularly cool effect in the winter environment because enemies will cause a small avalanche to occur when they make contact with a mountain. However, the most effective strategy for this part of the game requires Jehuty’s energy missiles. Like the dragon in the Panzer Dragoon series of games, Jehuty can target multiple enemies at once, and then fire a barrage of energy missiles.
After battling through dozens, if not hundreds, of these insect enemies, Jehuty comes in contact with some familiar enemies robotic enemies from the original Zone of the Enders, and like the original Zone of the Enders, these enemies are easily dealt with by just using Jehuty’s melee attacks. The action in the demo begins to pick up when you move indoors into a multi-leveled base where you encounter robot spiders that are mostly resistant to Jehuty’s melee attack, so you have to grab them, and swing them around. Again, this technique is made more effective by the fact that you can do more damage by throwing one enemy into another. To defeat some of the other enemies in the area, you can actually rip out one of the steel support beams in the environment and use it as a relatively long-range melee weapon.
By this time, we had the controls down pat. Jehuty can increase or decrease altitude with ease, and his various attacks as well as his shield are responsive and easy to execute. In addition, the camera never appears to present much of a problem, which is somewhat surprising considering that the game moves at such a quick pace and requires an incredibly responsive camera to present the proper view.
Later on in the demo, Jehuty encounters the equivalent of a boss battle, in which he’s pitted against another frame. However, this enemy can not only parry Jehuty’s melee attack, but it can also use its shield to prevent any long range fire from hitting it. In addition, it will occasionally fire out waves of missiles not unlike the clouds of enemies encountered earlier in the demo, so you have to go back to using the energy missiles, which is good since that’s the only way you can really inflict damage on the other frame in the early moments of the battle. Eventually, the other frame will start become a little sloppy and you can move in for a few quick strikes with the energy sword.
On the graphics front, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner looks great. The game sports a somewhat cel-shaded look that lends itself well to this type of game and it mixes in quite well with the anime cut-scenes. The cel-shading isn’t particularly noticeable in the environment but you will see traces of it on the frames, and in some of the special effects such as the smoke trails and some of the special enemy attacks. It was also particularly impressive to see all those enemies on-screen at once in the initial stages of the demo with little to no slowdown.
We’ll have more on Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner soon.

Wow that looks fucking amazing. I liked the first ZOE so this should be a blast, but on par with Panzer? O_O
Every last bit of this information conjures up the phrase, "Deja vu".
Yeah it looks so much better and I hope its true that there are some major changes, the videos and impressions make it out to be so.
Konami is on a roll now IMO.
It makes games like DMC 2 look like ass, and check out the name of Leos jet/frame, very nice indeed.
Here is the music from the trailer, It was better in the E3 one IMO:Beyond the bounds
Damn, that screenshot looks nice.
I only rented the original Z.O.E., and while I was far from crazy about it, I remember thinking it had a lot of potential, and I hoped there would be a sequel. Well, here it is, and looks daaaaaamn good. Here's hoping the gameplay will capture that classic flying mech feeling.
Yeah, that's what I said.Quote:

Sure, this game is amazing looking, with many effects going on at the same time. But the video showed backgrounds and characters that just weren't as detailed (texture-wise and artisically) as PDO. The game is cel-shaded too, or at least appears to be. Amazing looking, though.
Thank you very much, I was actually searching around trying to figure what the hell it was and where I could get it. I've actually put the trailer on a few times just for the music.Quote:

Vic Viper!? Cool.
I wish there was a PS2 emulator so I can run ZOE2 at the same resolution as the above screenshot. Ooo... that'd be gorgeous...
and about ten hours of gameplay.Quote:

I could live 1,000,000 years, and I will never understand why so many people hate ZOE...
ZOE needs a sequel but Snatcher/Policenauts doesn't. Good call, Kojima.
Yeah, This game looks beautiful. Sure its not going to be graphically mind blowing as ORTA, but still to have this is PS2 we talking here, and everyone is bitching how bad PS2 can be. And please, dont compare it to DMC2, DMC is not only about pretty graphics, its gameplay is much more refined than ZOE was, and ZOE2 probably will be
I downloading the trailer now, and will be watching it later at home.
I'm probably in minority here, but I enjoyed the original ZOE game. It had cool mech action, beautiful graphics, and I didnt find its battles to be as repetetive or boring, as many other people did. Sure it wasnt a longest game, but I'm not the one who usually whines about games lenght anyway :)
That was some of (if not THE) worst voice acting I have ever heard. When my ears stop bleeding I'm going to lie down.
Are you serious Master? I have heard much worse than that, atleast it Leo wont make such a big appearance in this game.
The voice acting isn't so good but I don't expect great voice acting in video games. I'm guessing that this game takes place on Mars where the big war is supposedly going on. That's what pissed me off about the first game. ADA kept talking about the big war on Mars but we never got to see what was going on. I guess that's cuz they had a sequel in mind from the beginning and wanted to save that portion of the story for the second game. Makes sense. Well it looks great, especially with the cel-shading, and the anime cut-scenes should be cool. I just hope they improve upon the gameplay like they say they are.
In that trailer? If that's the worst you've heard then you haven't watched many cartoon/anime shows, have you? It's decent (certainly not good), but it wasn't bad either. Leagues above the first as well.Quote:
