I value your opinions more than any review crew. Does anyone have impressions they could share? I'm a fan of Resident Evil, but currently cant afford a Cube, so I thought I might try this and ebgames.com has it new for $10. I'm always looking for a new Dreamcast game to pick up. Worth $10 or should I pass?
I think it's worth $10 if not $20 even. One of the last few DC games, and I thought from what I played it was a good solid survival horror game. The graphics are gorgeous especially the backrounds in VGA and the opening cinema is really good. I only played a bit of the guy's quest but I'll return to it again someday.
I only played the demo for the PC version, but I liked it a lot. I was a fan of all the other games, so I definitely want to pick this up.
play it thru vga. its a million times better (just like GGX and SoA). pretty descent game.
Well worth the $10 IMHO.
All I got to add is my copy was very glichy esp during the opening Cinema. Otherwise I quit after that Lib puzzle, maybe I'll try it again later, but me I'm not too big on the whole backtracking bit, buy hey for $10 it sounds decent.
After taking a Q-tip to my DC's lens I quite enjoyed Alone in the Dark. The game is damn sensitive and a dirty lens makes the music jump, screws with vocal tracks, or just plain not run.
Decent little game, I enjoyed it and that's coming from a person who dislikes the RE series. *-neo
Well, Its definately worth $10. I got mine for $20 a while ago, and its well worth tha as well. Its a pretty cool survival horror game. Great graphics(dvd version is looking very nice, dont have vga though), lots of next light fx, good pre-rendered locations, and unique monster designs and weapons.
I will need to finish it one day :)
It looks great, but my copy was full of glitches (the audio would fade in & out). The worst part was getting stuck - I was unable to obtain a certain item needed to progress...on three separate, different occasions! I had to restart from the beginning each time, and after the third time, I gave up on the game.
Just be careful when & where you save. The "save anywhere" system needed some serious work. Still, it's worth the $10 just to see the meshing technique.

I agree with Bio. Even though I was lucky, and my copy wasnt as glitchy as many other ones out there, I also experienced some audio problems.Quote:

I also heard about problems that missing important items, and inability to return to obtain them can cause, but luckily have not seen them yet. I'm sure it would really piss me off, if that happened to me(it did once, in another game, Drakan for PS2, where I got to the certain part in the game, and cant comeback, because of developers error, and have to restart the game from the beginning :()
I picked this up a while ago for 20 bucks, someday I think I'll play it
