I played the game for a little while a few days ago, it seems like a decked out Harvest Moon game, my question is is it fun enough to buy without the NES games? It's either this or Starfox, and I own most of the NES games in Animal Crossing for my toploader. Is it really just a 15 minutes per day every day game, or is it something you can play for longer and have fun because I hated Seaman, it was more a chore to get in every day than actual pick up and play fun game.
AC is more fun than Seaman, and very different. Also Star Fox Adventures sucks ass alot.
I can see why some people love Animal Crossing but I found it to be half fun, half chore and I think the NES games are better than the game itself.

You can't play it for a long period of time. I typically play for about 10 to 20 minutes.
IMO, to really enjoy Animal Crossing you have to enjoy what boils down to playing house, er "village" in this case. You've been given a huge playset and you can just literally play with it. That's all it is. It's fun in a tranquil, satisfying way. It's not exciting, it's not challenging, it's really not a game at all.
I'm getting the most satisfaction out of slowly but surely decorating my house to be really cool. I'm also planting a crop of palm trees on my village's peninsula, designing t-shirts, and having fun building a bug collection. Sound stupid? Then don't buy AC. Sound cool in a really pointless way? Then you'll probably like it.
If you're the type of gamer who won't play Mario or Pokemon because they're too kiddy, then stay far, far away from Animal Crossing.
Sure you can play it for extended periods - I played it for six hours straight on Saturday alone.
All depends on personal taste, really.

There's like 3 other threads that talk about how wonderful AC is. Most of the praise is for the game itself, not the NES games, although the difference between playing those NES games through an output better than the toploader's disastrous RF out is really too much for words. Those who don't like AC all that much generally haven't had much time to put into it.
I'm the biggest Rare fanboy here, but I'd recommend AC without hesitation.
Frog - I'm just wondering how you've come to the conclusion that SFA sucks, considering it hasn't been released yet, and all.
I never understood why people got so bent out of shape about the video quality of the top loader in the first place, it's only 8 bit graphics. Trying to max out the graphical quality seems like trying to polish a turd to me.
The last game I bought was Turok for Cube, so my ass kicking fix is pretty taken care of (beat it today btw, ending is pretty abrupt). I loved the Harvest Moon games, my only fear with Animal Crossing is that it will wind up like Seaman, where after the 10 minutes per day there won't be anything left to do
and if we wanted to play NES games..we would go out and buy a e-Reader and cards
