Bad weather stories
As I'm typing this the wind is whipping and rain is falling outside. The house is under siege, water has surrounded us and we don't know when its going to stop rising. A few feet to the right of me is rising water, and its just a few yards to my left. At the rate its going it could be in the house in a an hour or so. We can get out, and we got everything on higher ground. In the 10 or so years I've lived here I don't think its been this bad. I've heard stories from people around here that at some points years ago its gotten so high that right now I'd be underwater. Anyways, heres some some bad weather stuff-
During the first hurricane we went through while we were here, the wind blowed so hard the walls (made of crappy wood) moved in and out. My dad went outside in the middle of it to save boats while large sheets of tin from the boat stalls flew by him. A long wooden dock started to float off, and he swam out and tied it back up. After the water fell, fish were left flopping around in the parking lot.
The worst part about bad weather is when the electricity goes out. One time we went more than a week without electricity. No air, no tv, no games, no water, no food, no nothing. I remember buying the new issue of Next Generation, and that was all I had. I must have read the Destruction Derby article 20 times.
I'll stop there *pulls out oar and paddles chair out of the room*

Uhh... I hope your house doesn't float away?
-
Damn Green. Hope you dont get floded.
I hate when power goes out, especially during heavy rain. It happened once with us, it was a really hard thunder storm, and the rain was just pouring outside, and then BAM, power went out. No power means Sum-Pump(dont know how to spell it right :)), wont be working, so the water might start getting into your basement. Thats exactly what happened to our neighbour next door. They got their basement flooded big time, and spent half of the night trying to take out the water with buckets. And the power was off till like 12 hours later.

i slipped on a patch of ice and pulled my ass muscle.

A tornado sucked all the water out of a friends pool once.

I'm alive! Nothing bad happened, the water got close to the house but receded. There are alot of seagulls outside...
-
Watch out. Seagulls have really good aim, if you know what I mean.

I wrecked my first car in some torrential downpours. Went around a corner, felt the back start to slide and sideswiped a telephone pole with my driver side door. I got knocked out, and when I came to my friend was shaking me to wake up. One part of the pole was embeded into the driver side, while the top part had broke and landed standing straight up right next to the passenger side door.... no fun.
I didn't get hurt, and thank god my friend didn't either, but the car was totalled.

When Hurricaine Floyd hit New Jersey, my two buddies went for a walk through downtown New Brunswick (in NJ, not Canada) and the Rutgers College campus. The river had overflowed and flooded the town.
Those two found a rowboat that had washed away from a dock far, far away. They used it to travel around the streets- Venice (Italy, not Florida) style.
I was trapped in Starbucks, when I saw these two tubby freaks floating down the street. I nearly shat my pants!
They rescued me, and we spent the next hour floating around the town- until the police came and took our rowboat away. :(
What a weird day that was.

Shat my pants? You sure as hell don't hear that word often.
