The chances of one of us being on it are slim to none. It seems like people who know their stuff get dismissed right away, and they go for the geekiest looking motherfuckers. And for some reason, that pretty much describes my local EBs. Although I wouldn't mind taking that one blond chick in the stockroom and tearing that ass up on a stack of Xboxes(cuz you know, they're big enough to support our weight.)

She went back to Rhode Island Mall. I think she was the mangaer at PPM until they got someone to fill the position. Now its some fat guy I think. I avoid the PPM EB because they always insist on trying to help me although I specifically state that I am just looking.

Heh, I could show them my MiracleRay, you can't get more hardcore than that. Then I would plan a raid on a local arcade where I would go in and start yelling at the manager for not having any 2D Japanese shooters, and after the battle explain why they are so crucial to our existence. Then I would go an play Tekken 3 Blah with some gen X looking mutha-fuckers(you know the types that watch MTV) and beat them all using Eddie and his helicopter combo. For the remaining 15 min of the show, I will perform various break dancing/capoeira routines. Watch those ratings explode.:) Whahahahaha.

I believe the fellows name was Neil (?). Well spoken, smart... basically everything MTV is not. Then they play him into a psychotic punk guy that just screams in a band. Sad, really...

I hope whoever volunteers to do the show is paid well because even if they're not a loser (they will be looking for people that make us look bad of course) the show is going to go all out to portray them that way. Did anyone see the episode with the father obsessed with Star Wars? That guy had it coming. I couldn't sit all the way through that one, the guy was such a Star Wars obsessed spaz. Anyways, MTV is the core of all that is evil and corporate.

Wow lot's of hate for MTV around here, never realized that before. Anyways yes I saw the kids Dad who was obssesed with Star Wars and how he tried to teach his boys the power of the force. Hopefully this True Life show won't twist stories around, but I can't count on it.

Seen the preview for this, though I think it may be alot of PC gaming and tourneys there was a pic of a guy playing Steel Battalion.

The fat, snotty comic book guy from the simpsons is probably what they need. :D Lots of guys like that in tnl. I always laughed when I saw that character as I knew someone just like him during my younger years when I used to buy comics. Bart simpson and his friend always get ripped off when they buy rare stuff. And during comic conventions he's always the most privedged of the geeks to get his stuff signed. They need someone with an elite too-good-for-the-masses sarcastic attitude like simpson's comic book guy to cover the import gaming side.

Heads up, this thing airs on Thursday 10:30pm EST. The promo showed some dude playing Steel Battalion, plus some other tools doing stupid shit.

I can't wait for this, I just know they're going to skew the footage to make these guys look like even bigger assholes then they already are.

They showed some guy by an arcade in the promo. Maybe he'll be playing some unknown shooter.

there was an episode that dealt with star wars fans, wasn't there? all i remember is that the guy broke into tears of joy when describing the first time he saw star wars in a theater. scary stuff, that.

I couldn't even phantom watching someone on MTV proclaiming himself as a "hardcore gamer" becuase from the way those arrogent snobs run that show, they'll pick out the worst type possible and do something they'll make it appear in such bad taste that people will see everything in a worse perspective then the one they've already given us.

I agree with most of you this channel is nothing more then a mere shadow of it's former self. MTV passed away with the 80's, it's only essence comes from it's seperate stations (that actually play music) but we have to pay extra to get that otherwise they stick us with roadrules and realworld crap.

MTV is now as much as ever a 24 hour long advertisement. It's been like that since the get go - just now it's advertising things other than recordings.

Celebrity Deathmatch does air on the network occasionally. But they farmed out new episoded to UPN instead of airing them on MTV. Because that half-hour block obviously had to be used for more important things like the Real World, or Road Rules, or Making the Video, which sucks 90% of the time.

The original Aeon Flux shorts were the best--the regular series was a mixed bag but I am still a fan of Peter Chung even after seeing Phantom 2040. I also enjoyed the animated Men in Black which he did and taht was "toned down" from his normal weirdness. I have seen some of Reign and I don't really know what to think. The costumes are over the top times 10. I haven't watched enough of teh show to form an opinion but we'll see. It's produced by the Japanese and the animation was done by Madhouse, the guys who brough us Trigun.

I loved Phantom 2049, ironically enough, I think it was better as a game than as a show.

Reign is retarded, Aeon Flux might have been cool if it wasn't just a bunch of random crap though.

All of the shit that was remotely cool on MTV has been replaced with completely badass shows on Cartoon Network which owns all non-educational television.

I like road rules more or less becuase it's about how students get to compete and work together as a group. The sad thing is their rules state that somebody has to leave after they fuck up somewhere and it's depressing they may never get to meet again.
