Sonic CD
I found this disc at my local gaming store for five bucks the other day, but won't be able to play it anytime soon because my Sega CD is about a hundred miles away from me at the moment.
How's the game compare to say.. Sonic's 1-3. I know people have talked about it here before, but I never really paid attention, as I figured I'd never get my hands on the game.

The controls aren't as tight on Sonic CD as it is on the other Genesis Sonics, but in my opinion Sonic CD is the best 2d Sonic Game made. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is close, but not quite there. You just bought yourself a real gem.

Whats with sonic 3 and knuckles?!?! Why does everyone say that, what does it have over normal sonic 3 (aside from knucles) and whats 3 with knuckles have over just plain ol sonic and knuckles???
-
Well, Sonic and Knuckles' stages were supposes to be in Sonic 3, but due to time contraints, were taken out. Sega then had the marketing idea for "Lock-On" technology which was kinda cool. Still is fun to play Sonic 2 and Knuckles on the Nomad.

Sonic CD for some reason is regarded by a lot of people as the best Sonic yet. But I disagree. Sonic One is still the best. Sonic CDs levels are a mess.
-
indeed....for some reason sonic 1 grabs me like no other. but ilove the sonic cd bonus stages the most.

I agree with the Master of Clashing, except the part about Sonic 1 being the best. Man, those Sega CD levels really are a mess.
Taloony, do a search on this board and look for sonic cd threads, we've discussed the game at length in the past.

Sonic 2 is tops on my list.

For mosty nostalgic reasons, Sonic 2 has always been my favorite in the series. I think the combination of the memorable music, levels, and addition of Tails are what did it for me.
Little known fact- Those without a Sega CD can play Sonic CD via the Sega Smash Pack (PC).

Wowzers!
I'm still glad I've got my original copy of Sonic CD.
Sonic 2 is the best in the series. Not hard in the least (given the fast paced nature of the game, difficulty is NOT good for it.) The classic tunes and enemies make it even better.
