There were three. After going through them in the school library several times during elementary school, one day in fifth grade I saw them being sold all together in a package at the book fair. I called my mom and begged her until she brought me the needed cash, and I still have them. Right over there on the bookcase *points*
Awesome stuff. Scary Stories, More Scary Stories and Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones.
I would have to say my favorite was and is the one where the two men working in the middle of nowhere make a dummy to kick around, talk to, take their frustrations out on, whatever. Long story short, it ended with one of them getting their skin stretched out on the roof and dried in the sun.
I need to read through those again.
man, those scary stories books are three of my fave books of all time...EVAR. I even went and bought a brand new trilogy box set a few years ago. Stephen Gammell has some of the best artwork I've ever seen. Also one of my fave artists. Just tonight in fact I pulled out the trilogy for some haunting tales to kick off October. =)
