Lunacy

While I usually stay away from FMV games, I enjoy an occasional one in the style of adventure games like Warp's D. The import version of Lunacy(Torico) got quite a bit of praise from Gamefan that I decided to rent it despite my aversion to the genre. While I don't quite share Halverson and company's love for the game, I still enjoyed it when I rented it back in 1997. It was a good attempt at the CG adventure genre by Sega and I was pleased Atlus decided to release it domestically.

Lunacy had atmosphere more than anything. The game succeeded at producing an environment of eeriness. The game is mostly story and puzzles so there's not much for me to talk about without spoilers but I think fans of "experience" games will like it.

I loved this one. Had me glued to the game. Really creeped me out too.

I enjoyed it though I didn't like that 'find the obscure plant we tucked between some trees to the left of the entrance of some building' task.

I got this game in a big late-adoption Saturn package, but I've only played it for a few minutes. Is it still worth playing? Saturn FMV is pretty painful.

As a rule for non-humorous graphic adventures, if you can't stand the graphics, the game isn't worth playing.
