Well, it's really tough to judge a fighting game until you've actually played it and see how things pan out in practice, but I haven't had high hopes for this one since I saw something other than renders. And yes, those characters look pretty dumb.
I agree on character designs. They look bad. Maybe with the exception that ninja looking dude.
I will rent it, but I definately wont be buying it right of the bat.
I'm interested in what it gets in reviews. GameSpot said it was a solid game in their latest preview, but again, I haven't seen any videos online of people who actually freaking know how to play a fighting game, so I have no clue if the gameplay is any good or not...
The character designs lack.....uuuuuhhhh....design.Quote:

Oh and don't you rent just about everything Despair? ;)
I'm still lookin forward to it, and from what I hear, it plays a lot like Tobal. And that's not a bad thing....
Thats...
A GOOD thing!
No, I rent majority of games, I'm not sure in :)
The titles I know I will enjoy I get right away.
Well the people in Dreamfactory who made Tobal what is was are no longer there. What you have left are the amazing people who gave you masterpieces like The Bouncer.
I don't have any high hopes from this game and every preview seems to be struggling to say something good about the gameplay. The graphics are nice though, but the character design is still fuct and last time I checked the animation was very stiff.
GameSpot just ran an article with game impressions and pics. Check it out:

I'm stubbornly and perhaps foolishly maintaining some shred of hope for this game. I like fighting games, and I haven't seen enough gameplay footage to dismiss this one outright. Crazy as it sounds, I'm actually going to have to play this one before I pass judgment.
