Red Dragon opens this Friday and it looks to be a promising thriler. While some may argue that this Movie has already been done and it's a cash in on Hannibel Lecter, the Movie does seem to have its merits. Ed Norton is an amazing actor and the whole new take on the story is worth it for me.
Who's gonna see this this Weekend?
Well the book wasn't really that great. And Manhunter will be tough for them to top. But its' got one hell of a cast so I think I'll go see it still.
It's been I duuno how many years since Manhunter? Gosh I musta been like still in grade school. Manhunter never had Hannibal Lecter though right?

They making Lector to be the most important character in the movie. Even his face on the poster, and takes like a half of it.
He is just a minor character in the ManHunter, but at that time Lector was unknown character, and now, because of Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal, they hype the movie like its about him !!!
I will rent it, or borrow from the my friend, but I'm not seeing it in theaters.
P.S Brian Cox played Lector in the original ManHunter :)

be warned though, there is a lot of grahpic images.... very disturbing. and you see Ralph Fine's ass. alot.

Pretty good movie. Better than Hannibal.
I kinda ruined the ending for a couple of people.
Yeah it's very good. I can't remember "Manhunter" well enough to compare but this is a worthy title to see. It gets very exiting near the end.
I'd reccomend it and I loved how they gave the backstory on the Lectar character.
Ed Norton is great and the "Dragon" is a unique villan...
Go See it.
Ok, now I remember why I don't like going to see movies on opening weekend. Jeebus it was crowded.
First off, a big thumbs up for The Two Towers trailer. Very nice, very nice. It makes my loins ache for December to come.
As for Red Dragon... *thumbs up*
Here's the breakdown... NO SPOILERS.
+ Harvey Keitel... he's in it, and that's always a good thing.
+ Hannibal's role is extrapolated to give him more exposure, and it's done quite well. Yeah, a lot of it is very reminiscent of SotL, but I don't think that's a bad thing.
+ A couple good shocks.
+ Jar Jar Binks was not in it. Granted, I wasn't expecting him to be. But anytime he doesn't appear in a movie, that's a good thing. Oh... sorry if that was a spoiler.
+ Great ending. At least, I thought so.
+ Almost manages to capture the overall feeling of SotL. This one feels like a proper sequel/prequel, whereas Hannibal was just poo poo.
- Ed Norton is Ok, but... meh
- The serial killer in this one just never reaches the heights of creepiness as Buffalo Bill did.
I think that's it. All in all, it was a good time. Very derivative of the SotL, not as good, but all in all a good night at the cinema.
