Well... I finally got to chapter 4 last night, and I hate it. In other news, today I'm going out to get a VGA Box, so I can finally rejoice in the sharp tate goodness... 88mph Spoiled me last night
when you do a bomb, does it do more damage to opposite colored enemies? I can't tell. Mostly because it tends to wipe out all the pions no matter what, but I'm mostly wondering on the bosses.
Yes...
Try doing it in black mode on Stage 1 Boss' first form.
You'll see what I mean. :)
you do double damage to enemies/parts of enemies of opposite color. helps alot on the stage 2 boss.
I've never been a tate fanatic, despite my love of shooters. Well, after playing the clipped, lame-assed, letterboxed original mode, I'm on a high-priority mission to get a new VGA box and a flippable monitor. Enough is enough.Quote:

Last night I had Ikaruga dreams. I woke up in the middle of the night and my brain could not stop switching colours and dodging/sucking up bullets. :)
Ikaruga kicks arse! :)
The chains work by defeating three enemies of the same color. During the demo of the game, the ship would destroy all white ships on the screen before blasting the black ones (and vice versa). Either that or shoot three ships of one color, switch to another color, and repeat. Right now, I'm more concerned of surviving the actual stage instead of going for combos, but I'm sure that'll change once I get better.Quote:

And to mirror what others have been saying, Ikaruga will be the main reason I purchase a DC VGA box.
I haven't recieved my copy yet (expect it on Monday or Tuesday) but I'm a more than a little curious about the control setup. Specifically, I'd like to know what the default is and what options they give you for customization. I'm hoping the standard shot is executed with the trigger on the standard pad, otherwise I might have to break out the ascii ft pads (have arcade sticks but never even tried shooters with them- I mostly play fighters in the arcade so thats the only reason I bought them to use at home). Any info is appreciated.
Control is fully customizable. You won't want to use the trigger for shot, though.
