Actually, Morimoto, until recently, was my favorite Iron Chef (and the fact he has a local restaurent helps him immensly: http://www.morimotorestaurant.com/main.html :I'll be eating there within the week!!!). But, after seeing Sakai in action, time and again, I had to change! He's extremely artistic and creative. He also cares greatly about presentation.
I still Love Morimoto, but Sakai is the better chef. Opinion isn't a factor.

Well, why don't you at least check out the pics of the restaurant? It has COLOR CHANGING BOOTHS, for crying out loud! They change color!!!!!

He trained in Spain though he never actually went to a Culinary School. My dad was under the same apprenticeship as Martin "Yan Can Cook" surprisingly.Quote:

Hmmm...right now all I have available is the Philadelphia Art Institute's school for CA. I doubt I'll be able to travel to train under any great chefs...but I can dream and hope.

I'd love to kick Bobby Flay's ass! He's such an arrogant asshole pretty-boy! I will always rue the day he "won" that rematch with Morimoto. He doesn't deserve that. They awarded him the "victory" out of pitty. He's a crappy cook who only knows backyard barbeque.

P.S. Alan Brown rocks! And my favorite iron Chef is Chen Kenichi, based on personality.
Chen is definitly the most personable Chef. He just has fun with it, and doesn't let the title "Iron Chef" go to his head.

Morimoto's restraunt looks cool -- I'd probably go with some of those visual ideas if I owned a place. However, even if he is an Iron Chef, his food prices fit squarely into that expensive foreign food paradigm. Why must Japanese food cost so much? That's silly. Most of the ingredients are domestically produced, so they have no right to be that expensive -- other than "an Iron Chef owns the restraunt". Feh. Silliness.
