I wouldn't laugh if things go in the playoffs like they did tonight for the Devils. By your logic, both teams won't see past the 1st round.

Stop worrying about the Rangers. The Devils have complete control of their playoff fate, while the Rangers' seed is in about a dozen other teams' hands. The Rangers don't even have the head-to-head tie breaker with the Devils.
