So my understanding is that Sony basically paid off the effects crew from this movie and took them for that other "aliens invading LA" movie; this flick had to restart from zero and redesign their aliens.

I'm boycotting because none of the movie was filmed in Los Angeles. They filmed it all in Louisiana.
I'm sure they won't notice.
