Still no facts. I waited and waited but still not even a single hypertext link to a website attempting to put forth any negative facts about marijuana use. What the hell kind of game nerds are you people? Can't even find a fact when challenged....

If you want to check some interesting alleged facts I recommend http://www.cannabismd.org/ But to be fair I should say that alot of the actual research on that site that I've bothered to read is from testing sponsored by NORML and other pro Marijuana groups.

I also recommend reading Dr Andrew Weil's book entitled The Natural Mind. I found that to be rather intelligent, articulate and more than capable of addressing some of the irrationality that seems to go hand in hand with the subject.

Nick I'm sorry, I was being testy and I hope we're still cool. Calling Hero "tuff guy" was a term of endearment because I rather like him. Nice ta see the staunchly nonsmoking Master piping up(not literally folks!) on the rational tip. I read EThugg's and Mech's first posts after my last one and I can see that they're pretty sharp so I'd best rest my case in light of their superior logic. Like I said, I don't think I make a good enough example to be an example to anyone. I just wish people could make due on their own - meaning, to feel good through yourself, not through a substance or any external stimulus. But if it's helped you with sleeping and all that...

Oi vey the sleeping... I've made half ass attempts at "quitting"(because obviously THC is superfluous and not truly necessary) but usually by the fifth day I'm off to a hellish dreamland and I'm alot less out of touch when stoned than when sleep deprived.

But anyway, I only came back to address a point that was mentioned twice above. It relates to the fact that I said pot's not harmful but then I admitted it's harmful. My preference for removing the solid particles(aka: irritants) from the smoking experience does not necessarily indicate that I think weed is "harmful", per se. As a mental or emotional crutch THC addiction can clearly be as harmful as any other, from Krispy Kreme abuse, to smoking rocks, jacking off all day, 12 step program psychosis, unchecked starvation dieting, or fiendish Everquesting. Say what you will about me and my little nightmare issue but the thing is, not everyone uses it for a mental or emotional crutch. Physically I imagine that smoking anything would be quite harmful unless the smoker takes care to remain in quality cardiovascular health. Any responsible THC user who is in tune with the goings on in his/her body, heart and mind should easily be able to regulate an intelligent and "harmless" dosage, especially with the modern vaporization techniques I mentioned above.

Those may or may not be what you're looking for. Either way, I don't care as I have encountered nothing positive myself. Medical reports and research can prove black is white for all I care, but if I never see that in execution, does it matter? I think the "tree in forest" analogy works well here.

Now, in regards to your vaporizor actions, that's fine with me. You're seeking to make it work for you, so go right on doing so. However, that does not change that every person I have ever seen taken in weed has smoked it, with the exclusion of a few rare times when I heard them discuss baking it. If this is not the norm, fine, but it certainly doesn't seem to be.

Now, as for my bias against pot-heads, this comes from two places: Everything that has been stolen from me has been done so from these people (friends of friends), often knowingly so. Because so many of them do not want to give up their connections, they will not rat out friends and/or will allow people in their house who are known thieves because they don't want to be "mean." Next, many also have a habit of taking whatever they can and transforming it into some sort of bong. Me and a few others I've lived with at various times have lost all sorts of objects thanks to idiots taking them and turning them into encrusted objects without asking.

This experience has come from living at two different households with pot-users and spending a lot of time at two others (and hearing the stories from my non-pot friends who lived there). I actually will be living in a pot-free environment soon (which is good for me since I no longer will have to lock up my stuff to feel safe from roomies friends if I'm not home), which has taken a long time to do. 98% of the people I know in my age range either do pot or are so fucking stupid in the first place I wouldn't want to hang around them anyway.

Please post witty rebuttals within five minutes guys.

I'm sorry a few hundred people isn't enough to base an opinion on. Perhaps I should travel the world and ask everyone wherever I go to have some pot so that I may observe their reactions. I realize you have already done this for fellow pot-users, and so therefore know them all and how the majority are great people.

A few hundred people? So you have met and interacted with 300-700 potheads throughout your years on this earth. Damn, I wish I got around as much as you. But by your logic I can say that most of the potheads that I know are good people, therefore they are all good people. Nope, this is not what I'm saying at all. Yeah, I'm aware that there are many potheads out there who are caniving assholes who will take your water bottle or your phone and turn it into a makeshift smoking device, but there's just as many that will take there favorite bong and turn it into a lamp because yours might have broken. As for 300+, yes, I've easily interacted with that many, and that's been in the last four years. If your roomies threw as many parties as mine have you'd have that sort of experience too. I just hate how anybody that would want to smoke with me acts like a stereotypical stoner whenever they get high. They always have all this equipment and shit to smoke with, too. Most of my friends I used to smoke or drink with are never around (partially due to me being three hours away now). Ah... good memories of walking around ye olde ghetto after half a bottle of Hennessy or a couple of blunts. In any case, I don't want to smoke any more, so I need to learn some good cannabis recipes.

Regarding substance abuse as a character flaw: It all depends on the person's attitude or mind-set when they are doing it. It is still a character flaw in the sense of intentionally harming one's body though. I only skimmed through this topic, but I think that's partially what Nick meant when he called it a character flaw, considering the fact that he also thinks of fast food consumption as a flaw.

I'm a pothead, I'll admit it and I don't care what most people think about it. I've been smoking pretty much daily for the past 3 years and very sparingly for a few years before that (every 4 months or so). Hell I'll light up right now......... ok.

Pa has covered everything great I'll back him up on anything he posted, although I've never smoked through a Vaporizer I'm a bong man. It should be legalized but it'll be a very long time before it happens here in the states, Canada should legalize it within the next few years. Don't be surprised to see me living up there when it happens. I prefer smoking alone although there are certain people I love to smoke with. Some video games just kick some much ass while stoned (Rez, Gitaroo man, N2O, NiGHTS, a lot of shooters) , I highly recommend playing Rez while your peeking with some kind of studio headphones on. For some reason twitch games come so much easier to me too. Getting stoned also kinda gets me absorbed into a really good FPS, I almost feel like I'm really laying the smack down on your typical alien menace.

The one really bad thing smoking has done to me is my lack of exercise over the past few years, I'm becoming a fat ass. I caught myself a month ago and I'm doing my best to keep up my workout schedule and I started eating right (lots and lots of fruit and veggies!).

Everyone should have the opportunity to try pot, weather they do or not speaks volumes about them.

Oh, and I find myself watching shows I normally wouldn't. Dragon Ball/Z/Gt and actually liking it!

I've spent close to $400 on various DB DVDs, VCDs or VHS tapes over the past 2 months. I got a lot more than I thought I would on my tax returns.

as far as I'm concerned, in any conversation about the downsides of pot you could switch the word "pot" with "alchohol" and the conversation would turn out practicaly the same. The difference is that, as of this point, one substance is legal and one is not. Irresponible use is what causes negative side effects in either situation.

No substance is for everybody, and I'm starting to think that stoners are half elitist bastards who use pot as a way to initiate those who they value. Marijuana should be legalized for whatever and grown by companies who levy pressure against politicians just like the tobacco business.
