It was recently announced that Nintendo's upcoming titles in the Metroid franchise - Metroid Prime for the GameCube and Metroid Fusion for the GBA - will feature bonus material through the use of the Nintendo GameCube/Game Boy Advance link cable.
Metroid Fusion will contain a new suit for Samus, which can also be unlocked and used in Metroid Prime. In order to get the new outfit for Samus, the player must first complete Metroid Prime, then link the two games together. After Prime is completed, players will be able to switch Samus into her Metroid Fusion suit on the file selection screen.
The second big bonus is the inclusion of the original NES Metroid on the Nintendo GameCube. After completing Metroid Fusion and linking the two systems, an option will become available to play the original hit game. The save feature in Metroid will also be upgraded so that the player can save onto the GameCube memory card instead of using the original password system.
This new information just may convince fans to pick up both Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion when they hit retail shelves next month.
