Interestingly enough, my brother played over 100 hours on one file in Breath of Fire 3...
off the top of my head most DC games, zelda, GTA3 and soon vice city.

That's me as well. I don't spend 100 hours on a game often (see my 2 item list above), and it is never with an adventure/action/FPS game. IMNSHO there is no point in playing through a 20 hour game 3, 4, or 5 times. I've probably played the original Resident Evil 4 time (different versions), but that's not enough to get halfway to 100 hours.Originally posted by Taito
Actually, I think I clock in at or around 100 hours on most of my favorite arcade or arcade-style games. Meanwhile, I play through extra long, 30+ hour adventure games only once before it's shelved and forgotten.
Oh! I know another one I forgot on my list: Mario Kart 64. That game + college dorm = 24/7 gaming bliss.
Yes, but most of that time was when I was much younger and didn't really have much else to do. Everything was just killing time 'til college (yes, that's how I thought about it, even at age 12). Besides, it's not like I did it in consecutive hours...that's 100 hours over the course of 20+ years. IMO, the number of hours I've slept is a much more disturbing expenditure of my time...Originally posted by diffusionx
For those of you that listed 6 or 7 games, do you realize that you have spent a whole fucking MONTH of your life playing just these handful of games? And people wonder where they time went when it comes to the end. [/b]?
Not too many, especially in recent years. See, way back in the day (20-22 years ago), I was in jr. high and high school, and couldn't buy games every single week. Selection was a bit more limited as well. Thus, I played the same games over and over. A few examples: Wizard of Wor (that game rocked!) and Missile Command (another great Atari 800 rev). I'm sure I played these games and others of that era for WELL over 100 hours.
Now, I buy too many games, get bored more quickly, and frankly, have little interest in playing just about ANY game for more than 30-40 hours. Still, here are some 100+ hour exceptions:
1. Streets of Rage 2
2. Tenchu
3. VF2 (KoF, too, I think)
3. Halo
4. Various shooters
"Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"
PSO (DC)- duh
Shining Force 3 (all scenarios): God I loved this one. Endless fun.
Can't really think of more, but prolly some others are close too like Streetfighter Zero2 etc.
!
Actually, the more I think about it, 100 hours isn't really that long (not to me, anyways) to devote to a single game that invites endless replay. 300+ is pushing it though.
Ikaruga
Heroes 3
Might and Magic 6,7.
