Thread: Tiger Woods 2003

  1. Tiger Woods 2003

This should drop off of the front page almost instantly, but, nonetheless:

Anyone know if there are any real, noticeable differences between the PS2 and Xbox Tiger Woods 2003 games? I don't know if EA has a tendency to slack on Xbox ports or not. Thanks.

To my knowledge, they haven't slacked on an Xbox port yet. Keep in mind that it is probably easier for them to port the superior PC version to Xbox than the PS2 one. Add to that the fact that the HDD allows for tons of saves of great shots, and you should definitely get the Xbox rev.

  4. I've read at Operation Sports that the Xbox rev is crisper graphically.....take that for what its worth....HD save would be enough for me.

I also read that it definitely slants toward the arcade side....

for instance....you have to tap a button while the ball is in the air to produce backspin.....not my kind of golf game.

  5. Oh, really, Pigpen? Hmm, damn. Links was supposed to be pretty disappointing, and I've heard good things about this one. Well, thanks for your help.

  6. Is this game any good? It looks more like a simualtion this year - it seemed to me before it was more arcadey.

  7. I picked it up today, along with Harvest Moon PS2 ($20, what the hell). I'll post an initial opinion later, seems like some of you are interested in it.

  8. Just to follow up - the game's really pretty good. Having to use the analog stick for your golf swing adds a bit of uncertainty to the game, which I appreciate, and at time Tiger Woods feels like a much much improved home version of Golden Tee.

There's loads of stuff to unlock, if you appreciate that sort of thing, and a Tony Hawk-esque golfer PC advancement system.

Excellent courses, they really did a hell of a job on St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, all that. Good practice mode. Excellent frame rate. There's only one song on the soundtrack that I like (Ash's Burn Baby Burn), but, beyond that, there are only about 7 or 8 total song selections, so you'll get tired of the music pretty quickly. I think my brief time with VC spoiled me.
