I don't consider Tower of Druaga or its sequel Return of Ishtar classics but they aren't bad. I don't remember them that well though.
I think my first Druaga exposure was the Famicom port of the first game.
I know the Tower of Druaga is considered by many to be a classic, and so I decided to try it out a while back to see if maybe I could tell what was so good about it. But when I did, it seemed like absolute and utter crap. The main character moved slowly, the slow sword-swinging motion was irritating, and the game just seemed way too basic and bland to be any fun. However, after reading the page linked below, I tried it out again, and I think I'm starting to see the appeal. Yes, the jet/wing boots really do make a world of difference.
Are there any fans of the game here? What do you like about it? When were you introduced to it?
Here's a great feature on the game: http://ptu.topcities.com/tod.html

It seems like a good game, but just not my kind of game. Maybe I do need to give it another chance.
Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)
I think I played this on one of Namco Museums (I know I've played Ishtar), and it sucked, so bad.
A shining example as to why I don't like Namco museum collection.
my 1st exposure to the Tower of Druaga was in Tales of Destiny. I imagine that its quite different from the original since it has battles and stuff but it was great.
