Thread: NEC: two new games for Dreamcast

  1. NEC: two new games for Dreamcast

According to Gamefront: (yes, I finally used a translator)

    NEC plans two new developments

11.11.02 - NEC operates on two new developments for the Dreamcast. Both plays are to be presented to 22.11.02 in the magazine Dorimaga. NEC has among other things. Sentimentally Graffiti, Favorite Dear and Black/Matrix programs.

Black Matrix was a good game, I'm guessing these titles are date sims but who knows, perhaps something with gameplay will surface.

Also on Gamefront today, Treasure's Maegawa expressed his happiness at Ikaruga's brisk sales and G-Rev plans to location test their new Naomi shooter: Border Down very shortly (Maybe you'll see it Seven Force?).

  5. Sentimental Graffitti is supposed to be good, but it is of the Date Sim variety.

I love how selling 20,000 copies is a victory worth crowing about for Treasure. I find it encouraging that they can still manage to turn a profit by targeting a niche.

  7. I want NEC to release Sengoku Turb for Xbox.

And I bet 75% of Ikaruga's sales were to American consumers.

  8. I know these are the dark, dark final days of the DC, when the only thing that can turn a profit are cheese-ass love sims that only require a programmer, some bad midi music from the NHK audio library, an artist, and a pervert to produce. But somehow, just seeing anything new announced makes me feel good about the world. Black Matrix has digital comic written all over it, but who knows? Here's hoping KoF 2001 sells well enough to convince people to keep developing for DC. I still fully expect Revenge of Final Fight Revenge to be announced sometime next year.

Good news, now get to work on Project RS3. Heh some complain about sales under 100k, and other are happy with 20+k but thats to be expected in some cases.

NCS sold a couple thousand alone, my guess would be 3,500-4,000 sold abroad. And at the end of the day, sales are sales .
