if this is right, super metroid wouldn't be called Metroid III, would it?

unless, of course, it's one of those side-story type deals.. blech
Prime is a side-story type deal, yes.

I was gonna mention Star Wars... but George Lucas had the foresight to name A New Hope episode 4.
    Name: Rock

It is more of the same. It plays just like a more linear Super Metroid, with the minor additions of edge-hanging and climbing.

I haven't seen that many enemies, but so far I agree HOD has better enemies.
I really hope that you just mean graphically because HoD had the biggest pussy bosses of all time. They did look bad ass though.

    Yea, thats it.

Anyway, the Navigation system does have a plus.... It gives Metroid a kinda interesting story to follow along with. The whole thing with surgically removing Samus' suit was plain freaky.

Ill see if it gives away too much after playing more of the game.

  7. Im already about half way (If not more) through the game. The computer varies it's amount of information, and I love that damned thing. It helps move the plot (Which gets REALLY cool as you progress) and makes sure you're constantly progressing (Which is good!). I'm totally in love with this game.

and GOOD LORD..So many heart stopping moments. I'm not going to say anything until someone else feels like being a OMG SPOILER ALERT whore, so I'll save it

    *Goes back to playing*

    *Edit*
Okay, I've been told that I'm at the boss before the final boss. Yay! I <3 this game.

  8. Prime takes place after 1 but before 2

its in one of the official things

it coudlnt take place between 2 and 3 because if i remember the opening to 3 correctly Samus had just dropped the Metroid Hatchling off at the lab and was on her way some place else when the distress call or what ever came back from the lab so 3 takes place like right after 2
    i do believe
    Where I play

You call the additions of "edge-hanging and climbing" minor? MINOR?!? MINOR?!? The Metroid universe has been turned on its ear!! All conceptions have been shattered FOREVER! Metroid itself has been torn down to its very core and born anew!!!!!!

Well, okay, it's not that big a deal, but it's something different. I guess. Plus, the game is less linear because it's mission driven now...that's something different, as well. I guess. I prefer the old school free-roaming myself, but I still enjoy the game a lot.

But as for the climbing and edge hanging, I was thinking yesterday how easy it is to play with an existing formula- just take things present in other similar games (climbing, edge hanging), add them to one that doesn't have them (Metroid Fusion) so as to create something "new", and you have a sequel. Poof.

  10. I beat it this morning. Truly, truly excellent game. The fight with the SRX took me about three tries before I figured out a pattern to kill it easily. My percent complee was a 72%, and I think I shot damn near every wall. The remaining 28% must be those walls I never went back and destroyed once I got the ability to do so.
