Thread: Virtual On: Marz info.

  1. Virtual On: Marz info.

    Finally, Gamestyle has posted it.

    http://www.gamestyle.net/features.php?article=53

    Key points:

    • No Twinsticks.
    • Watari isn't too happy about the future of arcades.
    • "There is a possibility there maybe human versus combat, but with certain limitations. "
    • There will be no online play.

What can I say? A whack control scheme (which does NOT replicate the 'Sticks on the PS2 pad) and limited vs. play.

I still think that there's a chance of a future "true" VO. Also, this is the first VO to have an even MSBS version number, so I'm still hoping that Marz is a side-project of sorts.

I was assuming that the PS2 controller would be perfect for this game. If this is true, there's no reason for me not to stick with my DC version.

  3. I'll buy it mainly because it's as close to Virtual On: Force as I'll ever get, but I still think this is a waste of time on Hitmaker's part. I guess there's still a slight chance of home Force, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

  4. Is there even any point to this new game? It's so dumbed down and butchered it can barely be considered a VO game.

Yeah, I pretty much agree. I mean, I was all for it at first... It supposedly plays a lot like Force, the possibilities of online play, ect. Then this happens.

  6. This is a huge letdown for me. I hope they consider porting Virtual On Force to Xbox. They should be able to pull off a great conversion with that system. Damn! On top of that, they don't even know if Marz would get released in the US! Double Damn!

  7. Wow! Sega fucked up another game!

  8. Oookay...so, nobody here has played the game, and it's already "fucked up"? People have been practically begging for a mission based VO, and now that it's here, it's a bad thing? And who knows, maybe the control scheme will be an improvement - the old one was hardly intuitive. Given the team's track record, I'm willing to wait and see what they do with this one.

Although I'll admit, the limited vs. mode thing is pretty wack.

With the sticks, I thought it was one of the most intuitive mech control schemes ever. "Easy to learn, hard to master."

  10. Maybe; I was thinking more along the lines of the "you can only move at right angles" gameplay.
