sony, microsoft, and nintendo will reimburse retailers faulty systems. thats why ALL retailers have a thing called "defects". they package up ALL defects into a box, send it back to their own companies warehouse, and the warehouse sorts them all out and sends it to the manufacturers. i worked for CVS Pharmacy, GameStop and EB..all did the same thingOriginally posted by Melf
Also, doesn't the store get credit for faulty merchandise? I find it very hard to believe that Wal-Mart accepts defective merchandise without a receipt and just takes it in the ass. They have to receive some kind of compensation from the manufacturer.
cuz ALL companies care about is money. money talks.Originally posted by gamevet
My 95 Ford Mustang GT had a recall on the electric fan. I took it to Ford last month, after the thing stopped working. Ford replaced it for free. My question is, why does'nt Sony have recalls on their Playstations and PS2's? Because they know they used the cheapest CD drives on the market, to save a couple of bucks. Do you really think that the PSX sold 100 million units and 20% of those were'nt people replacing their broken units?
well the only complaint i had when i had the front-loading nes was the blinking problem. i guess it also has to do with where you have your system located (dusty area or not) and how you maintain it.The NES sold around 75 million units. Not until recently, have I heard of anyone that has had to replace their NES, but you always hear stories about the PSX and PS2 dying a pre-mature death. People can blame it on the CD drive having moving parts that break, but can someone explain to me why my August of 95 Saturn is still running like the day I bought it? I played that machine more than any console I ever owned. The Saturn was'nt built with cheap parts and it costed me over $399 because of that. The Playstation and PS2 were built in the cheapest way possible and I'm sure we are going to hear plenty of horror stories about PS2's breaking, in the near future. Here's to hoping that my Gran Tourismo 3 packaged PS2, does'nt fail so pre-maturely.
your sony tv came with 1 year warranty? if im not mistaken, ALL electronics come with 90 day warranty, and a 1 year parts and labor warranty. unless you were talking about thatI think game console manufacturers should provide at least a 1 year warranty on all their products. My Sony Television did, so why not a gaming console?
