Microsoft locking out modded Xboxes on Xbox Live

Bad news, isn't it? Here's the kicker- While Microsoft wants to weed out modded systems, they're also blocking out some unmodded ones.

When I get an Xbox, the mod is more important to me than Xbox Live.

Raiden Fighters Evolution. The one Xbox game I want, at least until RFE 2 comes out.

I bought a Nuon solely for Tempest 3000... If I must buy a modded Xbox for these two games, so be it.

Actually this isn't true. They released an xbox live update tuesday that didn't allow modded systems to play games online, but this info wasnt sent to MS. Once a person disabled their chip, they were able to get online. There are a lot of conflicting reports coming out from MS techs and their forums and what not, but there is no "blacklisting" (at least not yet).

MS is having a lot of server problems, and tons of people with unmodded systems are having problems connecting. The general pattern is that it works for a day or two, then you can't even connect from the xboxlive dash.

You can do a lot with a modded system- other than play imports. There are tons of emulators from mame to snes, and people with dvd problems can rip their games to their hardrive and play them there (and install a bigger HD), homebrew games and apps (very close to them being completely legal), all region dvd play, and there is a lot of other stuff people do.

I want the mod for the HDD and FTP stuff as well as emus... but I was refering to his specific problem of wanting to play Raiden Fighters.

That's pretty gay of MS...even though my system's not modded (yet), it's unsettling to see them do this. Although there aren't too many import games I'd want to get for XBox (except maybe Shenmue III if ever), I am pretty interested in the dev/emu scene.

Screw em'. Playing Raiden Fighters and Mame rank waaaaaaayyyyy above some dumb ass MMORPG with annoying people who I can actually hear being annoying through the headsets. Sorry Xbox Live, you lose.

That's it. I am sick and fuckng tired of Microsoft telling me what I can and can't do with my PC and/or Xbox. I have always been 100% against piracy, but this makes me want to burn every Xbox game I can from now on. Fuck you, Microsoft.
