Sadly, I'm not sure there is an easy fix for this as I recall browsing the newsgroups (or maybe the forums on AoD)and it seems Sony has blocked DVD video playback via component/RGB connection at the request of The DVD Group to help prevent piracy. Seems they were afraid ppl would run the component signal into their computers load up the video on a HD and burn their own copies.

Well, I'm sure someone needs a decent curse placed upon them. And if burn them only enough to only char the skin, I'm sure the local shelters will be glad to take them off your hands.

If anyone wants to use component video with the PS2 on other regioned disks, or just find a cheaper region-free disk then get the DVD Region Free disk from Lik-Sang. With shipping it costed 26 dollars, much better than the 40 dollar Gameshark. Nice to have a better picture, too
