After clearing the challenge mode, players will receive a code that can be entered on the Web site, which will display the best players from around the world. Interestingly, Infogrames says there are plans to make a commemorative trophy for the player who receives the highest rank.

Unless Treasure/Infogrames finds a way to debunk ranks from players who use GameSharks, this trophy is going to go to some no-talent 12-year-old who rented the game from Blockbuster.

Well, an online ranking mode better than nothing. I'm really looking forward to this game, and having a ranking mode makes it a must-buy.

So Infogrames owns the Atari name and logo now correct? They slap that logo all over the place now. I went to the new Ikaruga website, and sure enough "Atari Presents Ikaruga".

And this Online ranking mode is great news, and yeah Game Shark could really sour the whole deal. If only there was some way for the game to detect that the GS was used.

Also, this game is coming to the U.S. correct?

Clash, Infogrames has owned the Atari trademarks for about a year os so now. I think this game is still coming out in the U.S. Although there were rumors it got canned, so I'm not too sure.
