Official Freddy Vs. Jason thread

i remembered reading back before FvJ launched nationwide that when the test screenings first happened (like 2 months beofre the movie launched) the crowd reaction was so good the creators decided then and there to make FvJ it's own series. i myself wouldnt want anybody else thrown into the mix because no matter who you add it'll feel just that way. thrown in for no real reason.

The one thing I would like to see is a Fvj VS Ash movie. I know Bruce Campbell shot it down, but just imagining a movie with Ash and the other two in it gives me a boner! Can I say boner?

The way I saw it, Freddy kicked Jason's ass almost the entire movie.

I'm guessing alot of people were fooled by the end, after the credit roll. The way I saw it, Jason was still dead/asleep after falling in Crystal Lake and was dreaming that he killed Freddy (which he really didn't anyway), hence Freddy's wink. As if Freddy was saying, "He thinks he's won, but he doesn't realize he's in my world".

Then again, I could be completely wrong. Did I miss something?

If they mixed in someone like leatherface or myers, it'll just ruin the plot and they don't fit in their area like Freddy and Jason do. If they should do a sequel, I'd rather give it a good 3-4 year wait or it'll never live up to the first one.

Maybe they could trap Jason in the dream world during the whole film, but give hints like it's obvious he's still in it.

I'd rather see a new Nightmare movie and a new Friday movie than FvJ 2. I don't know where'd you go with it. And adding any other villian would be stupid.

They could put through a tie-in to the next FvsJ between the two.

Yeah, you missed Despair's multiple posts saying the same exact thing 3 pages ago. Please go back and read them next time.

I think the two sides in this matter will simply have to agree to disagree. The Jason fans will say Jason won and the Freddy fans will say Freddy won. End of story.

Perhaps they left the ending slightly open (if you can call it that) in an attempt to please fans of both characters.

Pff, why is there even an argument over this? Does it really matter in any way who won? If there is another movie they can just slap on any old type of rebirth they want. It means nothing how they do it, they just do it becuase the fan base will except any shit they are given it seems, and then analyze it like there is some deep meaning to it all. These movies do not require any logic in any way or form, they make the character do whatever the hell they want just so they can add blood to it.

It was a fun movie and all, but we are not dealing with that high level of writting. They could use the exact same rebirth in the next film and you guys would be going, "Hmmmm, does this mean Freddy won since he rode Jason out of hell again?! I wonder if maybe Jason was the one who was killed and the ending to the last one was all a dream!" You guys are giving WAY too much credit to the writers of these films.
