Burning consoles is a shockingly bad thing to happen!

  2. Extended Waranties are for suckers.

if your shit breaks, buy a new one, put the broken one in the new box, take the new box and receipt back to store. When they try tell you opened merchandise can only be exchanged for same item, argue that you don't want no peice o' crap product from X manufacturer, 'cause obviously they make junk (reference your returned item at this point).
Usually at this point they want you out of the store, and you'll at least get store credit.

Hmm, and I was just looking for the right post to say that. Guess the op doesn't present itself very often.

I never have before, but I probably will the next time I buy a system. My Gamecube just crapped out on me 2 weeks ago and it was only a week and a half before the one year warranty it came with expired. I hadn't played it for a while, and it was just luck that I decided to buy Metroid Prime because I played it for two days and then the disk drive died.
Nintendo fixed it for free, even paid for the shipping, and I got it back within a week and a half( on the day that my warranty expired). That's the first time a system's ever died on me (not counting the first NES I had as a kid, since my sister and I are probably responsible for that).

umm what you dont know is that some stores such as EB and GameStop, scan the serial number on the system so people like you cant do what you just said

so yoshi, you rather pay another $150-200 for another system than $15-20 for a 1 year warranty?

not that i'm condoning this, but by switching the insides of a console (and thus returning the broken innards w/ the original shell of the console), the serial number will match up with the original.

so people like him can do what he just said.
MK2 on XBLA plz - let the unfolding of gameplay begin!!
