Which would be justified, if it were crap, which it isn't.
88, that's true for any console except the PS2.

It's probably already been said, but the Xbox just doesn't have the userbase in Japan it would need to compete with a new PS2 game, no matter the title.
The Xbox sucks my nut for no discernible reason.

I, on the other hand, purchased my Xbox to use in weight training.I bought my Xbox so I could play video games. Not so I could run around with it.
Actually, in the US, the PS2 version of MGS2:S will probably have 10X the numbers of Orta. I can only hope that the graphic hoors will come out in droves for this.U.S. sales will probably be the same
Given that those numbers are for the Japanese release, they are good. Let's hope they're at least 10X that here in the US.

i havent read all 3 pages so forgive me if what i say is repeat....but we know the xbox system sales are horrible over there so that number could actually be a big percentage of the xbox system owners which would be good in an odd way.Originally posted by Melf
Check these disgusting 1st day sales figures off Magic Box:
- Unlimited: SaGa for PS2: 101,746 units
- Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance for PS2: 38,972 units
- Panzer Dragoon Orta for Xbox: 23,657 units.
More proof that Japanese gamers these days can't tell a good game from a bottle of Saki.![]()
How do you know? When have you actually played it?Originally posted by Kinopio
Things in its favor: Its a good game
And the reason that the Xbox doesn't sell in Japan is the same reasom you don't see Japanese driving Chevys and Fords...they just like their own stuff as opposed to stuff made by outsiders. American-made games in general don't sell in Japan either, for the very same reason. They never have. The biggest-selling U.S. console game in Japan ever was, what, Crash Bandicoot? And that certainly didn't crack the million sold mark. So, if American made games have never sold well in Japan, then why would an American made game system that plays American games (in addition to a few Japanese games) sell well?
