Final Fantasy 2 or 3 you decide..

The golden era for the Final Fantasy series imo was on the snes.

Since we only got the USA Final Fantasy 2 and 3 those are your choices...

I played FF2 back in its hey day and loved it to death, 3 I just recently started playing and although its a great game it doesnt have that same magic for me as 2 did.

So my vote goes for FF2....

So, we're talking FFIV and VI here then? If so FFIV is the better game IMO... FFVI was great but it kind of fell apart in the end... (the world of ruin sucked). It did have a great end boss though.

Overall, FF6 was the superior game. It had memorable characters with deep stories for almost everyone, a stunning soundtrack that still stands out today, the incorporation of the Blitz system, and it was one loooooooong ass game.
Oh yea, and then there's everybody's favorite, the Opera Scene. I remember my brother saying the game was only ok, and after he saw that part, he was hooked on it for a good week. He racked like 60 something hours by the weeks end.
The few things that made FF4 better was the story... the soundtrack was pretty good, too. The game was alot more challenging... and that area before the last boss me laugh in disbelief(damn Behemoths...).

They are both amazing games. 6 will always have a place in my heart, though.

Final Fantasy 2. I liked the story and characters a little more.

Well, Since I havent played 2 , FF3 wins by the default.

But honestly, FF3 was, and still is one of the best rpgs I ever played. Grand story, characters, events, sub-quests, music, all of them together made one hella of experience.

The whole End of the World part was something-something. And then the suicide, I was like - What???? How can the game just end like that, and then whole new world was open, and game continued.

Um, yeah. If you mean FF IV (SNES FF II) and FF VI (SNES FF III) then I'll have to give the nod to FF VI. Better story, much better characters, better sound, and better graphics.

I thought the stroy and characters in 6 sucked, honestly. Really FF6 didn't have much central story, it was just a collection of one-dimensional character with stupid speech patterns that each had an anecdotal background story. It wasn't a strong story at all. I felt FF4 was much stronger in this regard. FF6 also loses majorpoints for being a major step in the wrong direction and dummying down the gameplay over 5. It was trying to be cinematic, but it didn't have that epic feel. The story felt peicemeal and anecdotal like Valkyrie Profile, but not as well done, and without the enjoyable gameplay to redeem it.

I have to agree i felt no attachment to the characters in VI at all

they were all so one dimensional and your never given any real time with anyone of them just short interludes with them

VI had no central story to me, the having to use what 12 different characters and level all of them up instead of the characters you didnt use going up slightly with he main ones you were using, it was a pain in the ass and you HAD to do it cause you had to use EVERYONE during the end

personally for my money IV was the better game i still remember all the characters and what happened to them ive played through the game sooo many times now

its just IMHO the best RPG ever for me and Cecil is the best main Character ever

I think I was in 11th grade when I played FF 2 and I loved it, but can't really remember much about the story.

FF 3/6 is my favorite one. It had the best characters IMO, and the ninja Shadow was the coolest character including his flashback dreams that revealed insight into his dark past. Loved that!
