  1. Nintendo expects record net profits

What a good year it was for Nintendo

Nintendo is expecting record net profits for the second straight year. Nintendo has lifted its net profit forecast today for the fiscal year that ended in March.

The new forecast is a net profit of $841 million, which is up from the its previous estimate of $611 million made in November.

Nintendo's previous record fiscal year of March 2001, garnered Nintendo a profit of $738 million on sales of $3.5 billion.

Despite the net profit increase, Nintendo lowered its group sales estimate to $4.2 billion from $4.4 billion, due to the price cut of the GameBoy Advance and GameCube softwares.

I wouldn't be surprised. They are making profits with GC hardware and their first party games seem to be selling descent for the userbase. Add to that GBA being a juggernaut as usual, and there is no reason for Nintendo to be doing anything but profiting.
Taking it one day at a time.

  3. Whenever I read news releases like these, I always sing the the Pink Floyd "money" song...

Not sure why it always jumps in my head but it does...

    money...duh duh duh duh
