    I can't freakin' believe it.

..and I almost backspaced over that sentence 'cause I thought it was silly to reference the street.

another coincidence is I'm actually in Hbg tonight. Met some freinds out at the new Gilligans on Rt22 ..not at all my type of place, but I did notice they have an Indiana Jones Temple of Doom pinball machine

I am one old Sega/SMS fan that never thought Alex Kidd was all that special. Miracle World is pretty good, and Lost Stars is very good in an acid trip kinda way, but the rest are forgettable. I really didn't like Enchanted Castle at all. Save your money and go buy some Wonderboy games. I really never got why or how AK became the spokesmonkey for the SMS anyway.

Shinobi World is excellent , all of the others are trash.

Alex Kidd is probably the only 8-bit Sega series worthy of the term overrated.

But I still liked every game in the series with the exception of The Lost Stars.

Miracle World is the best game in the series. The market had yet to be flooded by mascot-ish platformers and Miracle World was quite good for its time although it's not in the same league as Mario or even Wonder Boy 1. I'm willing to bet anyone who says this game sucks did not play it in 1987. It reminds me of Kid Icarus; good for its time but surpassed by similar stuff soon afterwards.

Enchanted Castle was a decent sequel to Miracle World and it certainly stood out as something different in the first-generation Genesis line-up. A good game but it felt like a better-looking, worse-playing version of Miracle World.

High-Tech World is clearly Alex Kidd in name only. I found it to be a very unique adventure game, a weird hybrid of gaming styles.

Shinobi World is probably the only game in the series that gets underappreciated. It's way too short and easy but the gameplay is great. It rewards exploration and its design very Mario-influenced.

Overall, it's not a bad series. Just don't expect the pinnacle of 8-bit gaming or anything.

Praying for a Cosmic Fantasy Collection for PS2, Xbox and GameCube.

The Wonder Boy games are a hell of a lot better than Alex Kidd games.

Wonder Boy 1 is a platformer, the rest are platform/RPGs. Plus there's Monster Lair which is a platform/shooter but it's the weakest game in the series.
