  1. V16's have been around for a long time, but I don't think Cadillac's produced one since 1931 (or something like that) - I wasn't trying to imply that you didn't know that V16's were in existence.

  2. Yeah i think you're right about the not producing since 1930s thing. I saw a TV program recently that was a documentary on Caddys but I don't remember the exact year they stop using V-16s.

  3. That Caddy is nice...but for the same price I'd much rather have the Saleen S7. Either way your getting about 11 miles to the gallon though.

And anther thing...$250,000 is sounding ahrd for me to believe. Scary if thats the truth though, I don't trust cheap speed, not after my experiences with the newer domestic "performance" cars...*ahem* Formula

  5. I'm thinking detroit has lost it's mind.

A Viper Engine (500HP) in a concept motorcycle, that shares a name with a US Missle. 250k if they make them.

    Goddam!

Oh and 'theoretical' top speed of between 300-400 MPH.

*Theoretical in the case means, you might go fast, but you would not not live to enjoy it too long, methinks.

  6. Damn! Why don't you just strap a warhead to your nuts and light it up.

That price is correct. It's to compete with the 300K Mercedes Maybach and the Bently lines (around 250K or so, I think).

Go look at old 30s, 40s, 50s Cadillacs, and you can see those design elements reflected in this new Cadillac Sixteen - although, just as much, you can see an improved version of the Art & Science theme that came out with the CTS.

Just think about it...13.6 liters, 32 valves, 16 cylinders, 1000 horsepower, 1000 ft/lbs of torque, low-revving, smooth all the way. Despite the fact that a $30k Cadillac CTS would hardly be connected to the Sixteen, the fact that a model like that exists in the Cadillac range would make every single Cadillac model seem world-class. The Sixteen reminds me of Duesenbergs, stuff like that...it's got such a "fuck you I'm American" atmosphere to it. Great stuff, I hope that GM can put it into production without compromising it...I think Cadillac, the American car industry as a whole, needs a statement like this.

The Viper is a pretty nice statement of power. I drive a 95 Mustang GT with a 5.0 liter. About 2 years ago, I was sitting at a light next to a 60 year old guy driving a Viper. I did'nt think much about the guy lighting it up, but he did. Needless to say, I could'nt come close to catching the old man. I have taken care of a few rice burners though. Some guy was driving a Prelude R-Type and he gunned it from the light. Needless to say, by the time I topped second gear, I was passing the guy and he had a head start.

  10. Those 5.0's can be nice cars, a friend of mine is lookin' into getin' one. You can do some crazy shit with 'em if ya know what you're doin.

Also I bet kicking that Prelude's ass must have been fun (how much you wanna bet it wasn't really an R-Type).
