Thread: New GBA Castlevania in May?

  1. The GBA games were great. CotM was better then HoD. It also had the toughest Dracula ever. I could care less what system the next CV is on. I do think it will suck in 3D. Why the fuck can't they leave ONE series in 2D? The game will sell if it's great. It might sell more if it's in 3D but what are the chances that a 3D Castlevania will be great and feel like a true CV game? Konami is big enough to tell Sony fuck you. If they said you won't get the next Metal Gear if we can't put out a 2D Castlevania it would work. It worked for Capcom with MegaMan 8. I remember reading that they told Sony they would take Resident Evil elsewere if they couldn't release it and viola, we got MM8.

And they took Resident Evil elsewhere too.

Didn't they back out of that Gamecube exclusive deal though?

    ???

Konami's been pretty tight-lipped on the new Castlevania so how do you know for certain?

Nope. All their main RE games are on GC, just like they signed up. RE Online and RE Survivor are on PS2, but those are side-games.

No. Thus the reason RE4 is still GameCube exclusive.

  7. If it's for the GBA I hope it's plays like Castlevania 2.

As long as we get the games the way we want them, who give a shit what system they move it to? If you're a fan, you will buy it!

Oh, and as far as the PS2..er, next-gen Castlevania goes, it'll likely be announced on Thursday, but not shown. Cheers.
Yes! Anytime you feel like jumping the gun on those NDAs feel free to come 'round and post.

Anyway, I hope they go the compromise route and make it 2.5D like Contra: SS. (Well, okay, I hope it's completely sprite based, but this is reality we're talking about.) If not, I hope they played Rygar, and took copious notes. Except for the RE camera angles...I think we've had enough of that.

  10. A new PS2 and GBA Castlevania would rock. I remember the Castlevania producer admiring the way Devil May Cry handles in a 3D world, and that might be the route that Konami may go. I find that Devil May Cry's 3D engine works great, but I agree that a 2.5D world (a la Contra:SS) would be sweet, and might tickle my funny bone the way that SOTN did on the PSX.
