I killed the giant snake in REmake with just the knife. I don't recommend using it on zombies though. They don't have long, vulnerable asses.![]()
The knife was an overpowered instrument of doom (with a capital 'OOM') in Code Veronica, but I've heard the same is true for REmake and RE Zero. So I fire up both games, grab the knife, drop my items, and go to work.
5 deaths later, I come for help.
How, exactly, do you make the most of the knife? I tried taking zombies out at the knees, like in CV, to no avail. Not to mention you don't seem to get the multiple hits in one swipe that CV has. So how are the knives useful?

In the RERemake I managed to kill 3 zombies, 2 dogs and an assload of crows with the knife before I had to heal.
With zombies, just knife them once or twice, quick turn and run away. Then go back. At least that works for me.
Thats also one of the big reasons why I didn't like Code Veronica. Outside of the quicker bosses, everything could easily be dealt with the knife. Just aim down for 5 hits...alright!![]()

Leech Hunter? Huh?
If you mean Leech Zombies from RE0, those are pretty tough Zombies made up of leaches. They take hellawa damage, and can hurt you pretty badly. Best way is to wither use Napalm Grenades, or Molotov Coctail. 3 bottles later, they are history.
As for use of knife, I was never that desperate in RE to even try to use it, except for killing snakes in original and REmake. Also works on Crows, but you have to time the attacks right.
If there's a room that has stairs, I usually lure zombies to them to finish them off. That's basically the only time I use the knife. All they can do is spit acid, but that's generally easy to avoid.
