Nintendo to buy shares from Capcom?
The newest issue of GameLabo is reporting that, even though the company denied reports that Nintendo was looking to purchase the arcade and console gaming developer last year, Capcom is in negotiations with Nintendo to have the latter corporation buy shares in the former. Capcom's shares have been falling consistently over the last several months, and they hope that an investment by Nintendo just might be the thing to perk them up. However, Capcom doesn't want The Big N to become a majority shareholder because they know that Nintendo would prevent them from releasing games on the PlayStation 2. So, if Nintendo was to cooperate and invest in Capcom, it wouldn't affect PS2 or Xbox owners...In theory. We'll have more soon, if anything happens with this story.

Sony tried this same kinda deal with Square. And last time I checked Square has some Final Fantasy games (the game Sony was trying to keep on Sony systems by buying stock in square) coming out for Game Cube and Game Boy Advanced. So unless Nintendo buys like 99% of the stocks then I don't think it will change much.

:: slaps forehead :: Yeah I guess 51% would work as well.

I wouldn't mind seeing Nintendo buy Capcom out. At least the games would still be good.
