Thread: Schoolgirls playing filthy game of orgy roulette

  1. What "whole thing", exactly?
Taste and see that I am good said He. I partook of the blessings of the Lord and was filled with wonder at Him. He healed my sick mind, mended my broken soul, and breathed new life into my dead spirit. I was born again, adopted, a new creation in Christ Jesus. He told me to call him Abba. No longer should I call Him Lord, but that I should call Him Father. I asked why He chose me and He told Me that His desire is that none should perish, but that all might come to repentance. A robe of glory and a crown of joy He has prepared for all men if only they would heed the gospel of His Son Jesus. "Prepare a testimony before men" said He "That they may know that the Lord is merciful and is willing that all would approach Him"

I'd say that's much more boring. The Japanese media likes to dig up crazy stories. I doubt pregnancy roulette is going to sweep the nation anytime soon. I am sure that yet another weird story from Japan will pop up on the forum soon enough though.

Soon to be posted by me

When translated (this is what I get for not paying attention in Bible study all those years back) the word used in hebrew (or is it Greek? Grrr) means both. I gotta look that up.
Not to be a jerk, but it doesn't mean both. The word in the Greek, "fear," (Phobos) means just that.

"Fear" of the LORD is the begining of wisdom. Proverbs 1:7

"Honor" thy father and mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Exodus 20:12

And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had "respect" unto Abel and to his offering: Genesis 4:4

The words are different in the Greek for these three passages. Respect means respect, fear means fear, and honour means honour. However, Phobos, the Phobos that appears in Proverbs 1:7, is the same exact word in the Greek that appears here, in Philippians:

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with "fear" and trembling. Philippians 2:12

Most importantly, though, is this verse here, wherein both words are contained, to show their difference:

Wherefore now let the "fear" of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do [it]: for [there is] no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor "respect" of persons, nor taking of gifts. 2 Chronicles 19:7

A distinction, in the Greek, is definitly made all throughout the Bible.
Fear of the LORD is exactly that, fear. Not respect, not honor, but fear, as in "fear and trembling."

Thank you for correcting me CV. I knew I had my translations screwed up somewhere. Maybe next time I'll stay awake during Bible study.

You realize you just totally contradicted yourself, right?

Besides, the priests are too busy molesting the children that trust them and the church is too busy covering up for their sexual hijinks. It's been documented many, many times. Yeah, it really sounds like they adhere to those moral dogmas you spoke of above...
No I did not contradict myself you simply didn't read what I said. I said they called themselves Christians. And the catholic church does not represent Christianity anymore than the American government represents America.

But that's neither here nor there. I'm done hijacking this thread.

You misunderstand what I meant. You stated that "many people I know without a malicious bone in their bodies are stalwart atheists", yet how can this be so when, by your own very words, they can't have a conscience because they don't believe in and fear god?

Ah, one thing I do agree with you on, this thread has been hijacked long enough.
