Whatever happened to people having faith in God and doing what is right because the bible and God are the Truth? Though the bible does talk about fearing God a lot, I do not recall it talking about all salvation and truth springing from that fear. If I recall it has more to do with God being the very essence of Love and Truth, but hey that is just me, I could be wrong. Maybe I missed the part that says God is a big evil being to be feared and all salvation and moral law springs from that fear.

And before you post me 50 different bible references where it says "Fear Thy Lord" I want you to think about your own faith. Are you a Christian now because you fear a super alpha omega extreme ass stomping when you die? or are you one now because you have a found a personal connection between yourself and the message of the Bible? I myself would lean more to the ladder. But maybe your faith does spring from fear of punishment from God. But if you do, I wonder how you adequately fulfill the other things asked of those who are of the faith, such as loving your God. How does someone who fears a infinity of Pain, also love that which would cause such pain.
