Thanks Gongos. And I agree with you. I'm also glad this thread hasn't had any mud slinging. I just wanted to have an open forum where everyone could discuss their religious beliefs without anyone being "right" or "wrong". Everyone's being cool about it so far.

Hah! I can kinda relate to this. Back during my soul-searching phase, before I finally arrived at my current beliefs, I was kinda the same way. The best way to describe it was that I was kinda like Lieutenant Dan in Forrest Gump when he was screaming at god during the storm that it was time for a showdown and was challenging him to sink the boat and everything. It was a weird period of my life.

Buddha never claimed to be God or affiliated with God in any way. He merely taught a "path to enlightenment" from his own life experiences. Buddhism is more a philosophy or way of life than it is a religion.
