  2. Metroid Prime I'd just be repeating myself at this point
Rez Best game to play under the influence. Cool music and style.
Animal Crossing dangerously addictive and unique
Frequency Topped Samba de Amigo to become my favorite music game
Pikmin Had it been longer it'd be the best game in years. Music, gameplay and character design are unrivaled.
Ico insultingly short, but incredibly sweet.
Eternal Darkness Had the ending not sucked, it would be one of my all-time favorites
Way of the Samurai suprisingly deep combat and amount of freedom
Ikaruga it is no RS, but still quite good.
Super Mario Sunshine By the time a Mario game had finally sunk to Sonic's level, Sonic had sunk to the level of Gex. Still a very fun game, but lacks the magic.

You just did if you omit the question mark and who said from your sentence! SUCKER! *whispers to himself: zing*.

I dunno. If PC is allowed (it's not really next-gen, I imagined since it's always just advancing anyway) then add Sim City at 5 and move everything down a notch (Luigi's Mansion kicked off).

I forgot ED and some other game I forgot that someone mentioned. Meh, no more list altering.

EDIT: THe game I am reminded of is Schlep mentioning Kingdom Hearts. Meh, no more list altering for me.

Jeezus Rice, I like Gitaroo Man and all, but one of the top 10 next gen games?? I dunno about that. I'm not knocking it, I love it; just seems an odd choice. Let me try!

Metroid Prime - best game out there right now.

GTA 3 -surpassed all my expectations (I thought they'd fuck it up).

Animal Crossing - Made two of my chick friends buy Gamecubes so far. And I'm STILL playing it.

Maximo - played the shit out of this game, and loved it.

Jet Set Radio Future - Understand, understand... understand, understand... understand, understand that this game rocks.

DDRMAX - used to be a hater, now I'm fan. Don't shiv, chicken legs.

Steel Battallion - so blatantly excessive and beautiful.

And 3 more. I'm tired, and I can't think. Not Sunshine... it was great, but it had bugs in it. I'd let that slide (and I have, too) in a Sonic Team game, but NOT in a Nintendo game, ESPECIALLY a flagship Mario title. For shame!

Can I include the Wind Waker? I played it for 5 mins at Target, does that count?
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1

  5. Next Gen Console Games:

Ratchet & Clank - I've spent the most time with this one. I love the combo of platformer, action and fps. Just fun to play.
Need For Speed 2 - greatest sense of speed I've felt in a racing game yet. The cars handle like you think they should, which makes this fun to play. Awesome soundtrack.
StarFox Adventures - not really a shooter or fighting game, but an exploration game that is just gorgeous to look at and fun to work your way through.
Jak & Daxter - loved the great gameplay, finished it in a matter of days.
Metroid Prime - gorgeous game that makes the controller work for a first person shooter (I prefer a mouse and keyboard).
Spinter Cell - I love the feeling of involvement in the game. The easier you are on the stick, the slower he moves. I just love the tense feeling as you sneak up on someone.
MechAssault - awesome combat game. Mechs that move like Unreal Tournament, not the slower pace of the Microsoft pc series.
SSX Tricky - just plain fun. Great racer, cool tricks, great soundtrack

Now onto the PC (because there are a few games that need mention):

Neverwinter Nights - simply awesome. Baldur's Gate gameplay. The adventure creator means we will be playing mods for the next few years. Talk about value...
Freedom Force - superheroes done right.
Warcraft 3 - Blizzard gave us great graphics, a fun storyline and smooth gameplay. I love the heroes concept.
Medal of Honor Allied Assault - has ruined most other fps for me.
Red Alert 2 & Yuri's Revenge - I love the futuristic look at weapons. The gameplay was fun and the campaign enjoyable..

    Portable play:

    Metroid Fusion
    Advance Wars

    --------------------------------------
Currently Playing: Marvel Ultimate Alliance (XBox 360), Civilization IV (PC)
    --------------------------------------

  6. Mzo, that amount of playtime for Wind Waker qualifies you to write a GameFAQs review for it, so I'd say yeah, it's enough.

  7. Not in any particular order:

GTA3 - Bla blah blah. Everyone knows about this one.
Ico - The best PS2 game released so far.
Pikmin - There's nothing else like it. A testament to Miyamoto's genius.
Animal Crossing - Incredible concept, great execution. I hope the sequel is online.
Time Splitters 2 - This is the best multiplayer console FPS. Halo is about as overrated as a video game can get. Goldeneye still tops both of these games though.
Sly Cooper - Almost as good as Mario, because of all the different gameplay elements. Most platformers try to "out Mario" the Mario games, something that's just not possible. Taking a different approach with Sly Cooper made all the difference.
Super Mario Sunshine - Many found this disappointing, but I enjoyed it just as much as every other Mario game.
Metroid Prime - Amazing game in every respect. There's not much else to say.
Rocky - The only boxing game I've enjoyed since Mike Tyson's Punch-Out.
Resident Evil - The original RE was my favorite game of all time and the reason I bought a Playstation. The remake does it justice and then some.

  8. Ikaruga- I love you baby, must find a better tv to get the most out of you.

Rez- Its hard to decide what's more fun, playing it when I'm drunk or sober.

DMC- I payed about 130$ for it and it was worth it! (but damn did they rip me of..)

Gungrave- Almost better than DMC, the real John Woo game.

Ico- Bloody brilliant, but after the first run I never seem to come back to it.

Halo- Bought it, returned it x3. I miss it.

SH2- It just scared the crap out of my room-mates hamster.

    DW3- 300h and counting.

    eh thats it..

haha, you can kill me but you can't steal what I don't have!

  10. 1. Ico: Best PS2 game ever made, best game since Mario 64. Ico 2 is the only game I can see taking it on in the near future.

    2. Metroid Prime: Simply amzing, more Metroid then Metroid. Just blew me away in scope and playability.

    3. GTA3: It was almost a dream come true, the game where you can almost do whatever you think of.

    4. Rez: Mind numbingly amazingly fantastic! Its a dream.

    5. Mario Sunshine: Its Mario, and the fallow up to Mario 64.

    6. Super Smash Bros. Melee: A blast and one of the best Multiplayer games ever.

    7. Shenmue 2(XB): 9 billion times better then the first, amazing pace so much to do. Epic.

    8. Super Monkey Ball: Did not know what to expect, but man oh man was a amazed. Nothing like it.

    9. Panzer Dragoon Orta: Yumtastic. Never played a Panzer game before this, I should have.

    10. Animal Crossing: Nothing else like it, so very interesting. And very absorbing, neat lil' animals doin' stuff.
    Barf! Barf! Barf!
